β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ Learning Beyond the Classroom πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

At OLHC, we know that learning looks different for every child. That's why we embrace a variety of learning environments that inspire curiosity, creativity and collaboration.

Our beautiful Nature Play Space is more than just an outdoor areaβ€”it is an extension of the classroom where students can work together, explore ideas, problem-solve and engage in meaningful learning experiences in a calm and natural setting.🌳

Whether learning indoors or outdoors, we are committed to providing opportunities that cater to different learning styles and help every student thrive. There is something special about fresh air, sunshine and nature that encourages engagement, connection and a love of learning.

πŸ’š At OLHC, every space is a place for learning. πŸ’š

πŸ’š What a special morning we shared today as we welcomed our friends from Hendra House to OLHC!

The smiles, excitement and sense of wonder on the faces of our littlest visitors were simply priceless as they explored our school and experienced a little taste of life at OLHC. A highlight of the visit was story time in the library with Mrs Keaveney-Jones and some of our Early Years students, who did a wonderful job of making our guests feel welcome.

At OLHC, we are incredibly proud of the strong relationship we share with Hendra House and the important role it plays in supporting our youngest learners as they begin their transition to Prep. Opportunities like these help children build confidence, form connections and become familiar with their future school environment in a fun and positive way.

We loved having our visitors on campus and look forward to welcoming them back again soon! πŸ“šβœ¨

What a lovely morning we shared yesterday at our Parish School Mass. πŸ’š

Thank you to the many students and families who joined us as we gathered together in faith, prayer and community. These celebrations are always a special opportunity to strengthen the bonds that make OLHC such a welcoming and supportive place.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Stolberg for organising the Mass and to our wonderful Parish community members for providing the shared morning tea afterwards. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to gathering together again in Term 3. πŸ™βœ¨

Today we came together as a school community to farewell Mr Bennie as he heads off on Long Service Leave before commencing a new chapter at St Catherine’s, Wishart for Semester 2.

Mr Bennie was certainly our VIP today, receiving the full VIP treatment at Assembly and even being presented with a number of SOAR Awards in recognition of the incredible contribution he has made to OLHC over the years.

In speaking to our students, Mr Bennie encouraged us all to embrace new opportunities and not be afraid to try hard things β€” a message we know will stay with our students long after today.

While we are excited for Mr Bennie as he takes on this new challenge, he will be very much missed by our OLHC community. We thank him for his dedication, leadership and care, and wish him every success and happiness in the next stage of his journey.

A special thank you to Mrs Stolberg and all of our students and staff for creating such a memorable farewell, made even more special as we celebrated Mr Bennie’s birthday as well! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ’š

Good luck, Mr Bennie β€” once part of the OLHC family, always part of the OLHC family.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - a reminder of Christ’s deep and unconditional love for every person. πŸ’«
The Sacred Heart invites us to show compassion, kindness, and mercy in our own lives, carrying Christ’s love into our families, classrooms, and communities.
May the heart of Jesus inspire us to be gentle, welcoming, and hopeful in all we do.

πŸ’šβœ¨ Today at OLHC, we celebrated and gave thanks for our incredible School Officers. βœ¨πŸ’š

A very special thank you to our Early Years staff and students who prepared a beautiful liturgy to honour these remarkable members of our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the important role our School Officers play in supporting the learning, wellbeing and growth of our students each and every day.

From offering a helping hand in the classroom to bringing smiles to the faces of students and staff, our School Officers make a difference in countless ways. Their care, dedication, patience and support help make OLHC the special place that it is.

We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful team of School Officers who go above and beyond for our school community every day.

Thank you for all that you doβ€”we appreciate you more than words can say! πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š
