Jeans for Genes Day 2026 👖🧁💙

What a jean-ius day our Senior Toddlers had celebrating Jeans for Genes Day! 👖💙Our little superstars arrived wearing their favourite jeans and proudly donated their coins to help make a difference. Next, our busy bakers got to work, mixing up blue playdough cupcakes with glitter and pom-poms. They looked so delicious that a few little chefs nearly served them for afternoon tea—good thing we remembered they were only pretend!
To finish our day, everyone decorated yummy afternoon tea biscuits with lots of colourful sprinkles and creative designs. There were plenty of smiles, giggles, and "Mmm... delicious!" comments, even if the cupcakes stayed safely in the pretend bakery.

What's New in Our Senior Toddler Room?

Guess what arrived in our classroom yesterday? 🐣
We had a very exciting surprise this week when one of our wonderful families brought a chicken incubator filled with fertilised eggs into our classroom! During group time, the children gathered around the incubator with great curiosity. We explored the eggs together by asking questions such as, "What can you see?" and "What's inside the egg carton?" Each child had a special turn carefully transferring an egg from the carton into the incubator.
Together, we learned how the incubator keeps the eggs warm, just like a mother hen, and discovered the stages of the chicken life cycle—from egg, to chick, to adult chicken. The children have loved observing the eggs and sharing their predictions about when the chicks might hatch. This hands-on experience is encouraging curiosity, observation, scientific thinking, and an appreciation for how living things grow and change.

Now comes the hardest part... waiting! We are all eagerly counting down the days until we hear the first tiny "Peep! Peep!" We can't wait to welcome our fluffy little chicks into the Senior Toddler Room.

Guess how many fish our Senior Toddlers caught over the past weeks? 🎣🐟

The answer... too many to count! 😄

Our little fishermen and fisherwomen spent the different days "catching" fish, practising their hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, and turn-taking skills. Along the way, they explored counting, colour recognition, and worked together to celebrate each other's catches.

Who knew fishing could reel in so much learning? 🌊💙 Every catch was a splash of fun, confidence, and discovery!

Our Senior Toddlers had a wonderful time creating their own lamington-inspired treats and exploring this iconic Australian favourite through a fun, hands-on experience.

This afternoon, the children enjoyed delicious lamington fingers for afternoon tea. It was a lovely way to celebrate an Australian tradition while encouraging creativity and sharing a special treat together!
