⚠️End of tax year reminder!
Families who received Child Care Subsidy in the 2024–25 financial year need to confirm their family income with Services Australia by 30 June 2026.

If this is not done by the deadline, CCS may stop and families may need to pay full fees for child care used from 6 July 2026.

To all our Enhance families – don't let this take you by surprise!

You can confirm your income by lodging your tax return or telling Services Australia that you do not need to lodge one.

Some families need child care that looks a little different.

In Home Care is a flexible child care option delivered in the family’s own home. It may support families who cannot access standard child care because of things like non-standard work hours, location challenges, limited local vacancies, or complex family or child needs.

For eligible families, In Home Care can help children feel safe and supported in a familiar environment, while giving parents and carers access to care that better fits their circumstances.

Enhance In Home Care works with families and educators to support care arrangements that are practical, respectful and child-focused.

Under 8s Week is a lovely reminder that children learn through play, connection and everyday moments — wherever they are.

For In Home Care educators, programming may look different from family to family. Care might happen early in the morning, late at night, in a remote location, or alongside children with complex needs.

The good news? Meaningful play does not need to be complicated. It can be calm, flexible, low-cost and shaped around the child, the family routine and the care environment.

Here are a few simple ideas for creating play-based learning that fits the family home.

Are you an educator looking for work that is flexible, meaningful and centred on the needs of children and families?

In Home Care educators support eligible families in the family’s own home. This work may suit educators who enjoy building strong relationships, working closely with families and providing care that is shaped around each child’s needs.

Every family is different. Some may need care outside standard hours, some may live in areas where child care is hard to access, and some may need extra support because of complex circumstances.

As an In Home Care educator, you can make a real difference by bringing your early childhood skills into a home environment where they are needed.

This National Families Week, we’re celebrating the important role families play in children’s lives, learning and sense of belonging.

Families are children’s first educators and teachers. The everyday moments — reading a story, cooking together, talking in the car, exploring outside, sharing culture, playing on the floor, or making a wonderful mess — all help children feel safe, connected and ready to learn.

In home-based education and care, strong relationships with families matter. When educators and families work together, children benefit from care that reflects who they are, what they love and the people who matter most to them.

Here’s to families in all their many forms, and to the big connections built through small everyday moments.

Myth: Children learn best sitting inside at a table.
Fact: Children learn in many ways and in many places — including outside.

Nature play supports movement, investigation, language, confidence, wellbeing and problem-solving. Outdoor learning is not “extra” learning. It is real learning.

In home-based care, some of the richest learning moments happen in everyday outdoor spaces.
