๐ Investing in Our Educators, Investing in Our Children ๐
On Monday night, the teams from Kids Academy Redbank Plains and Milestones Early Learning Augustine Heights came together for an engaging and collaborative professional development evening.
Together, we explored the Educator Toolkit for Behaviour and were introduced to the Phoenix Cupsยฎ Framework โ a contemporary approach to understanding childrenโs behaviour through the lens of humanistic and positive psychology. This evidence-informed framework supports educators to recognise that behaviour is a form of communication and equips us with practical strategies to build positive relationships, strengthen emotional regulation, and create environments where every child feels safe, supported and empowered to thrive.
At Kids Academy Redbank Plains, we are committed to ongoing professional learning to ensure we continue providing the highest quality education and care for every child. By continually developing our knowledge and reflective practices, we can better support each childโs individual strengths, wellbeing and learning journey.
This professional development aligns with:
โจ Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0
โข Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity.
โข Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
โข Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.
It also supports the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) by strengthening responsive teaching practices, supporting childrenโs social and emotional wellbeing, promoting secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships, and fostering childrenโs agency and resilience.
Our learning also reflects the National Quality Standard (NQS), including:
โญ Quality Area 1 โ Educational Program and Practice
โญ Quality Area 5 โ Relationships with Children
โญ Quality Area 7 โ Governance and Leadership, through our commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
A huge thank you to Annette Johnson from Phoenix Support for Educators for facilitating such an insightful and inspiring session. We also extend our thanks to Milestones Early Learning Augustine Heights for joining us in an evening of shared learning and collaboration.
We are excited to embed this learning into our daily practice and continue creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can flourish. ๐
