Last year, our Mungalla Silver Lining School students had the incredible opportunity to travel to Bowen, where they participated in a unique and educational activity—turtle tagging—with the Gudjuda Rangers. This hands-on experience allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of marine conservation efforts and the importance of protecting endangered turtle species. Working alongside the Gudjuda Rangers, the students were able to witness the intricate process of tagging turtles, learn about their migration patterns, and contribute to vital research that helps protect these ancient creatures.

🐨 Wild Adventures at Billabong Sanctuary🐊

Our Cluden Silver Lining School students had an incredible day interacting with native wildlife, including crocodiles, lizards, snakes, and adorable koalas.

They soaked up knowledge through engaging talks about each animal's unique features and their important roles in our ecosystem.

Did you know that the sugar glider, a tiny marsupial native to Australia, can glide through the air for up to 150 feet? They have a special membrane between their legs that allows them to soar between trees in search of food!

Headspace visited Silver Lining School - Mooroobool to share ways for the students to take care of their mental health.

Riki and Irene made the session both fun and informative, helping students learn how to take care of their well-being.

Meet Mungalla’s new Junior Rangers! 🌿🎓

A group of students from Mungalla Silver Lining School were selected to be part of the Mungalla Silver Lining School Junior Rangers Program.

The Mungalla Silver Lining School Junior Rangers Program is part of the Immersed Learning’ program where students can become involved in community projects, experience success and have opportunities to discover areas of passion.

Recently the Junior Rangers participated in a revegetation program where they completed a survey on rare migratory seabirds at the wetlands and visited a property for water quality testing and tree planting.

National Indigenous Tennis Carnival 🏆🎾

Three incredible students from Silver Lining School - Mooroobool hit the court as part of the Queensland team in Darwin, one of the boys even place Second in the Queensland team!

But that’s not all! The boys also had the chance to meet tennis legends and music stars Evonne Goolagong-Crawley, Ash Barty, Jessica Mauboy, and J-Milla. How cool!
