🔨🌿 Today our Kindy children had a special incursion with Andy from Little Green Thumbs.
As part of the Little Builders Program, Andy introduced the children to a variety of tools used by builders and taught them all about tool safety. 🧰The children were fascinated to see a saw that was over 100 years old! 🪚
The children then enjoyed free building, where each child created a unique masterpiece that reflected their imagination and creativity. It was wonderful to watch their ideas come to life and see the pride they took in their finished creations.
A big thank you to Mick and Andy for another engaging, hands-on learning experience!

Yesterday was National Lamington Day! 🇦🇺
As a special treat, our talented chef, Ms Azi, created her own allergy-friendly take on the classic lamington for the children to enjoy.
A big thank you to Ms Azi for always creating such thoughtful treats for us to enjoy! 💛

🐛🦋 Insect Week at CHMCH 🐞
This week the children explored insects through artwork, hands-on learning, meeting earthworms, learning about butterfly life cycles, and discovering different insects in our environment.
The children were full of curiosity as they observed, asked questions, and shared their own insect discoveries. It was a week of hands-on exploration and plenty of interest in the tiny creatures in our environment. 🐜🕷️

At CHMCH, we have a government-approved Kindergarten program that aligns with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) and is delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).
Our Kindy program offers flexibility of days, with the program running across all 5 days of the week, providing consistency in learning and routine for children.
Eligible Kindy families also receive the Free Kindy subsidy for 40 weeks per year (15 hours per week).
Attending Kindy in a long day care setting means children benefit from:
• Longer hours of care, supporting working families
• Care during school holidays, within the same familiar setting
• Strong, ongoing relationships with Educators and peers
• Maintaining friendships with children who are often transitioning to the same local schools
• Connections with local primary schools, who visit throughout the year as part of our transition to school focus
• Consistency and routine

We love it when families get involved in our program!
This week, our Kindy children enjoyed a special visit from Sadia, who shared a little about Bangladesh.
We learned about the Bangladeshi flag, the national flower (the water lily), traditional boats, the Bengal tiger and other animals, and saw where Bangladesh is located on the map.
Sadia wore beautiful traditional clothing and shared some delicious traditional treats with the children.
Thank you, Sadia, for taking the time to share your culture and knowledge with us. We loved learning more about Bangladesh!
