Today, our Wombat & Platypus children had a special visit from Tori from the RSPCA, who spoke with them about the different types of pets people can have in Queensland and the many animals cared for by the RSPCA.
The children also learnt about how to care for pets by understanding and meeting their needs, and treating them with kindness and respect
Tori introduced the children to her rescue dog, Leila, and shared the story of how she came to find her forever home.
Thank you to Tori (and the RSPCA) for sharing this valuable learning experience with our children. 🐾

Today is World Day For Cultural Diversity 🌏
To celebrate the many cultures within our CHMCH community, our Educators wore clothing that reflected their cultural background and shared with the children about their traditional clothing and culture. It was a lovely opportunity to acknowledge and learn more about the diversity that makes our community so special.

We love when families get involved in our program and share a little piece of their world with us. Today, the Kindy children were very excited to welcome Bella, a beautiful Groodle and much-loved family pet, for Show & Share.
The children loved patting Bella’s soft fur, learning about her favourite foods and toys, and hearing all about what she gets up to at home. Bella brought lots of smiles to our Kindy group 🐾

At CHMCH, Mindful Monday has a focus on sustainability and gardening.
Today we had a special incursion from Luisa from Reverse Garbage QLD. The Kindy children explored how everyday materials don’t have to go to waste and can be reused in creative ways.
Together, they created rainbow wind catchers using recycled materials. It was a hands-on way to explore ideas around reuse, creativity, and making thoughtful choices with resources.
Thanks to Luisa for an engaging and fun learning experience with the children.

This week we say farewell to our Henny Penny Hatching chicks, who have been with us for the past two weeks. 🥚🐣🐥
It has been so exciting to watch the life cycle unfold. With lots of curiosity, the children observed the eggs in the incubator, the moment of hatching, and the chicks growing stronger and more active each day.
It has been such a special experience for the children to be part of.

Today is Earth Day. 🌏
Across the centre, the children spent time engaging in simple ways to think about the environment. They created their own Earth crafts, planted herbs and plants, and this week harvested sweet potato from our mini greenhouse. 🪴
We also explored recycled materials through creative experiences and were mindful of our energy use. 💡
A gentle reminder that small, everyday actions can make a difference.💙
