By pure chance, it was discovered that Emily is actually related to Emma from the Affinity team… it turns out they’re third cousins! Even cooler? Both are registered nurses, and both have family connections in the same country town in Queensland.

Frances, a former Affinity midwife, brings over 15 years of experience across all areas of maternity care. She is deeply passionate about midwifery and advancing the future of healthcare through research and education. She is also an IBCLC-accredited Lactation Consultant.​

Her background includes midwifery research and providing technical clinical support to university students, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.​

She complements her education role at Affinity by offering endorsed private postnatal care on her days off, providing hands-on support to new families.

Hansens disease, also known as Leprosy, is caused by a bacillus- Mycobacterium Leprae. Since the early 1900’s it has been considered a highly contagious disease that has led to much prejudice and social stigma for those who suffered it.

While most would consider Leprosy as a historical disease, it still prevails and can lead to physical deformity, vision loss and paralysis. Multi drug therapy has been introduced and significantly reduced morbidity, mortality and spread of the disease.
