Our Art Club projects are often dreamed up by our young artists.
In a recent Art Club session, one of our little creatives fashioned a 'mini book' from scrap paper, paving the way for today's creative outlet... Mini Storybooks!
Just like a blank canvas, these storybooks invite young minds to pen and illustrate their own stories, resulting in all sorts of themes, including sea creatures, kindness, and 'all-about-me.'

This past Reconciliation Week, we reflected on the power of storytelling.
đ¤đâ¤ď¸
Dreamtime stories and books about Aboriginal culture do so much more than just entertain. For children, these stories are vital tools that:
đż Teach respect for the land and environment.
đ¤ Share deep moral lessons and social values.
â¤ď¸ Build empathy and connection between cultures.
⨠Help Indigenous students feel seen, proud, and valued.
Sharing the worldâs oldest continuous living culture in our service is a beautiful way to walk together toward reconciliation.

Crafting âcosyâ at Art Club this week. We welcomed Winter at JSACP with a patchwork blanket style collaborative piece.
Artists explored textile designs, patterning and colour juxtaposition, as they collaged their own âTetrisâ like patches. All patches then came together to form a vibrant wall hanging for all to enjoy in The Loft.
We just love how each patch represents our little artistsâ individual personality and creativity.....AND what a fun and sustainable way to use up material scraps?!

This week at Art Club we are shining a light on National Reconciliation Week. This morning we explored traditional and contemporary Aboriginal symbols and patterning as inspiration for our works on timber.
We drew inspiration from Emma Hollingsworth's works, a prominent young First Nations Australian contemporary artist. She is a proud Kaanju, Kuku Yaâu, and Girramay woman based in Meanjin (Brisbane).
Emma is the artist behind Mulganai.
Lucky us - we have many of Emmaâs âMulganaiâ branded pieces in our home corner for everyday play! Children love adorning their domestic play scenes with the beautiful aprons, placemats and coasters.

âď¸ Calling all local legends! âď¸
Excited to announce we are building a Community Board⌠because googling âsomeone trustworthyâ can only take us so farđ
We want to showcase businesses and services connected to our wonderful families and local community.
So if you have a business card sitting in your wallet, handbag, car console or that mysterious kitchen drawer full of âimportant thingsâ - bring it in!
From tradies to tutors, bakers to babysitters we would love to help support and promote the incredible business within our community!
Please feel free to hand any business cards to an educator over the next few weeks and letâs support local!

Our cute as a button botanical artworks are now standing proud in The Green Corner.
Hand drawn by our lil' artists a few weeks back for Art Club, these delightful drawings now sign post all of the herbs and flowers in our kitchen garden.
Here's to a fruitful harvest after recent rains and autumn sunshine!

Taking a long hard look at our lovely selves for Art Club! This morning, we drew pictures of âusâ.
Artists studied different physical features and explored their very own style and how they can portray themselves in their drawings.
These delightful drawings are the first step to making some visual cues around the service all about being and feeling safe.
