Australia's workforce is shifting toward leadership roles faster than most people realise. By 2035, the country is projected to need close to 280,000 more managers than it has today.
That's not a small trend - it's a structural shift in what employers are hiring for. And it's not without reason: managers currently earn a median $2,072 a week in Australia, compared to $1,425 across all employees, the highest of any occupation group.
But more roles doesn't automatically mean more people qualified to fill them well. The professionals who move into leadership aren't always the most experienced person in the room. Often, they're the ones who can actually demonstrate they know how to lead a team, not just do the job.
Experience proves you can do the job. A formal qualification is often what proves you can lead the people doing it with you.
