The 2023 school year is only a couple of months away, so now is the time to get across all the important dates for your child.

Feel free to save these images so you have a clear idea of when the school terms start and end, when the school holidays are, and what public holidays you need to be aware of.

3 ways to keep your kindy sheet sets lasting even longer!

1. Use our cotton (or cotton blend) bag to store sheets in
It's important that the sheets are able to breathe while being stored so using one of our cotton bags is key to a long-life. Storing sheet sets in a plastic bag or container can make your sheet sets discolour, smell musty, or even grow mildew (particularly as we head into our wettest season in Australia). Our bags are even the same pattern as the sheets so they can stay together without mix ups!

2. Make sure they are dry before storing them.
Always make sure your sheets are fully dry before storing them. This is especially important over holidays and vacations when your kindy sheet set may not be in use. If stored wet or damp, sheets may develop smells, mildew, or mold.

3. Wash your sheets each week
We know that kindy sheets can be used more than once before they are packed away - it just isn't feasible to wash them every day after they've been used! But it's important to make sure your sheet sets (including the bag!) are washed at least once a week to make sure they are nice and clean!

Have you heard: the Queensland Government will be increasing the funding to kindergartens and day care centres around the state in 2023. This funding will increase opportunities for families to enrol their children into early childhood education centres by reducing fees and potentially making it free for children in disadvantaged or vulnerable situations.

The new funding will also contribute towards achieving the following goals:

- Improving educational outcomes
- Increasing participation and attendance of all children in Queensland
- Improving the inclusiveness of services
- Improving the affordability of centres by reducing fees for families
- Helping young children reach their full potential when they are at kindergarten

It's always good to see the government investing more into kindergartens and day care centres.
