Today we celebrate the many ways children and families communicate, connect and express themselves.

As a childcare service, we support inclusion by learning simple signs, using visual communication, partnering with families and creating an environment where every child feels seen, heard and included. 🧒 👶❤️

We love learning from our families and finding ways to support each child’s unique communication journey.

Every child deserves to have a voice — in whatever form that takes. 🤟💙

This week is International Week of Deaf People and you might notice a little extra sparkle around the centre this week. It’s our chance to celebrate what your child experiences here every single day - Auslan and spoken English woven together through our day at drop-off, stories, mealtimes, stories, songs, and goodbyes at pick-up.

Led by the World Federation of the Deaf Ry , this year's theme is Declaring Deaf People's Human Rights, marking 75 years since the WFD was founded, and 20 years since sign languages were formally recognised as full, equal languages under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

✨ Dress-Up Fun in the Home Corner! ✨
Our toddlers had so much fun exploring the costumes in our home corner with Miss Whetu! 👗🧑‍🍳👜
The children enjoyed choosing different outfits, dressing up, and using their imaginations as they took on different roles through their pretend play. It was wonderful to see their creativity, confidence, language, and social skills developing as they played alongside their friends. 💕
Miss Whetu enjoyed joining in the fun too, encouraging the children to express themselves through Auslan and verbal communication to create their own stories and adventures.
So many smiles, lots of imagination, and plenty of fun! 🌈✨

We were so excited to offer a music program - Hey Dee Ho within our childcare service! 🎶✨
We are proud to have Deaf, hard of hearing and CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) children as part of our service. As part of our commitment to inclusion, we have an interpreter available so that every child can participate, connect and enjoy the experience together. 🤟💕
Music can be experienced in so many different ways — through sound, vibrations, movement, visual cues and the joy of being together. 🎵💃👐
It was wonderful to see all of our children included, engaged and having fun in their own way. Because every child deserves to feel included, valued and part of the experience. 🌈💛
