Today we proudly acknowledge and thank our incredible Cleaners and Schools Officers for the outstanding work they do every day. Their dedication and care help ensure our school environment is clean, safe, well maintained, and welcoming for all staff and students.

This morning, our Cleaning and Facilities Teams enjoyed a special breakfast, prepared by our Canteen team and generously donated by the P&C as a small token of appreciation for everything they do.

A big thank you to Flag Football QLD for visiting our school to run workshops with our Year 10 HPE classes! 🏈

All eight Year 10 classes had the opportunity to take part in skill development and gameplay workshops, learning from experienced QLD coaches and players.

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to build their skills, teamwork and confidence while trying something new.

Kokoda Challenge Brisbane

This weekend, we have an incredible 78 students from Years 10–12 taking on the Kokoda Challenge Brisbane across a range of distances! 👏

A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers who are giving up their time to support and accompany our students, without your commitment, opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible.

Wishing all of our students and staff the very best of luck as they tackle the challenge. You’ve got this! 💪

Instrumental Music Jazz & Strings Evening! 🎻🎷

A huge congratulations to all of our talented students who performed so beautifully and showcased their hard work, passion, and musical growth. It was fantastic to see our Jazz and Strings ensembles in action and enjoy an evening filled with incredible music.

Thank you to our staff for their dedication in preparing the students, and to our families and community for coming along to support our musicians.

Congratulations to all of our talented vocalists on their outstanding performances at the recent Vocal Concert!

Our young singers showcased incredible talent, confidence and versatility, performing across a wide range of vocal styles and musical genres. The evening was a wonderful celebration of music and the hard work our students have put into developing their craft.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to support our performers. Your encouragement and applause helped make the event such a memorable success.

🎉 Official Opening of the Dragon's Den! 🎉

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the official opening of our brand-new MGH canteen, now officially known as Dragon's Den!

After receiving an overwhelming response for name suggestions from students and staff, the Dragon's Den was chosen as the winning name and perfectly reflects the spirit of our school community.

Our special guests and student senior leaders enjoyed a guided tour of the new facility and had the opportunity to sample some of the delicious weekly specials on offer. The butter chicken and chocolate fudge were clear favourites and received rave reviews.

A big thank you to our special guests for joining us to celebrate this milestone, and to everyone who played a part in bringing this project to life. From the planning and construction through to the final finishing touches, this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of so many people.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in making our new canteen a reality and can't wait to see students and staff enjoying the Dragon's Den for years to come.

MGH Biggest Morning Tea

A huge congratulations to our Year 11 and 12 students who recently hosted a Biggest Morning Tea in support of cancer research and support services.

Thanks to the generosity of our school community, students, staff, families and sponsors, we are proud to share that more than $1,500 was raised for this important cause.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making the event such a success. From those who organised and volunteered their time, to everyone who donated, attended and supported the fundraiser, your efforts have helped make a real difference.

Year 10 Japanese Shopping Excursion 🇯🇵

Our Year 10 Japanese students recently participated in a Japanese shopping excursion, providing them with an authentic opportunity to explore Japanese language and culture within our local community.

The day began at Kazuyo’s Collection in West End, where students practised their Japanese shopping phrases while exploring a range of products and artworks created by local Japanese artists.

Students then travelled into Brisbane City to enjoy a delicious lunch at Kadoya Restaurant, where they confidently ordered their favourite meals in Japanese.

The excursion also included visits to popular Japanese retailers such as Daiso and Uniqlo, allowing students to observe the influence and significance of Japanese culture within the Australian community.

Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life and help students develop their language skills in real-world settings. Well done to all students for embracing the opportunity and representing MGH so positively throughout the day! 👏
