♻️Make the most of the recycling programs you didn’t know existed!♻️
🤔Did you know your veterinary supplier may offer a take-back recycling program? This might be for the recycling and re-use of cardboard, eskies (ice-box’s), ice-bricks, packaging material and other items.
👏🏾This means that instead of throwing these items into the bin, or even recycling bin, they may be able to be re-used before they are recycled or disposed of. This is super helpful if your clinic does not have access to a standard recycling system.
🔁This kind of take-back program allows us to utilise a circular economy, where we are able to re-enter the manufacturing process and retain as much value as possible from our resources. This saves company’s money, and it also significantly reduces our environmental impact.
🇦🇺Here in Australia, one of our most popular veterinary suppliers, Provet, offers a take-back program for cardboard boxes, eskies (ice-boxes), ice-bricks and plastic crates (dependent on your delivery drivers truck capacity).
✅Ensure your boxes are dismantled and flat-packed, stored neatly inside an assembled box. Any boxes that have reached the end of their life, or cannot be re-used, will be recycled through the appropriate channels. All items sent back should be packed as neatly and concisely as possible.
👋🏽I encourage you all to reach out to your veterinary suppliers, and enquire if they offer any take-back programs to assist in reducing environmental impacts – usually these are not openly advertised by suppliers, so you will need to ask!
👇🏾Does your clinic currently utilise any of these programs? Please share below!

This one is a pretty simple how-to, becoming a sustainability ambassador in your clinic is easier than you think 🧐
Below are some ideas and tips on what it means to be an ambassador, and how to dive into this journey 👇🏾
💚 The most important part of being an ambassador is to be a role-model for those around you, they will look to you for best-practice when it comes to sustainability
💚 It is your job to help educate, encourage, and inspire others towards a greater goal
💚 Audit your clinics practices, protocols and environmental impact - awareness and accountability are the first steps. Noticed your clinic wastes way to much paper? Take note and make a plan!
💚 Research, research and research! Find better alternatives for what you are currently doing!
💚 Share your knowledge and findings with your team, it is so much easier to work as a team to reach a goal and create change

This is so true! Imagine that every single person in the world decided to do one small thing to reduce their waste - the result would be phenomenal. Your small changes are so important 🙌🏾
Don’t be afraid of doing this ‘wrong’. There is no wrong way to make an effort towards making more sustainable choices, and it doesn’t have to be as scary and overwhelming as it seems! 😱
If you feel overwhelmed, pick one small area or task to focus on, and you will find yourself building confidence and passion to take on more.
Let me know below what area you are going to focus on becoming more sustainable in 👇🏾

It’s easy to feel like what you do doesn’t make a difference, but I promise you it does!
You don’t need to be doing it perfectly to create change, every little bit helps. When you become conscious of your actions and begin to implement sustainable practices, you will most likely notice a domino effect.
The people around you become conscious of your efforts, conversations around sustainability start to happen and are passed down the line, and you will notice the people around you begin to get involved as well 👏🏾
More and more people will want to get involved and make small changes, and before you know it, your small actions have set off a chain of reactions.
That little thing you felt wouldn’t make an impact, has now made a huge impact. Your actions matter! ✨
