Where did all the time go?! Seriously 2022...Calm Down!
Promises were made not so long ago to deliver Earthling tales to the online realm, now days and weeks have since passed with not much to show!
Lately I have been caught somewhere between productivity and procrastination with my to do list shape shifting taking on many forms delivering both pride and guilt in equal measure
It felt as though there were just not enough hours in the day and something had to give. I wrote everything down, mapped it all out and decided what was most important then chose to accept my limitations
Health, wellbeing, friends, family and connecting with nature won over folding clothes or content creation and I wouldn’t change that choice for the world even if that means feeling like i've dropped the ball...or many of them!
Looking forward to continuing to sharing what I can, where I can and when I can from a place of excitement rather than obligation and after taking a big step back from it all I can now trust that is more than ok
So the question remains...Is there anything in your world that needs to be demoted off the priority list for a few days, weeks or months to free up some time and space?
Aaaaand could you be brave enough to potentially risk disappointing others in the process and give yourself full permission to do so?

And just like that the school holidays are over once more ⚡️
A return to routine for many of us and a chance to reflect on all the fun that we have had these past two weeks ✨
Maybe the chilly weather intuitively inspired a slower pace, cosy vibes and comfort food? Perhaps it sent you interstate or overseas to chase the sun?! Thankyou to all who chose to spend their time with me, will be sharing some holiday highlights soon!
After each break I like to ask the children I teach what their favourite part was and I just LOVE how simple, wholesome or obscure the answers are! Who knew that you could spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on travel for the best bit to be watching the luggage go round a conveyor belt?! Or maybe they met a really awesome dog at the park, ate something exciting or built a pillow fort!
Initially the responses were purely heartwarming but now years into this tradition I consider them to be just more supporting evidence demonstrating that (almost) always what children remember and cherish the most is rarely found in the big expensive investments and more so in the quality time, smaller gestures or finding some hidden magic in the mundane
So if you didn’t “overachieve” with a full schedule of activities and outings this school holidays try not to be too hard on yourself because no doubt through the eyes and the memory bank of your little ones you did juuuuust fine!

There is so much to be learnt when using natural materials in play 🌿✨
They are all around us every single day, accessible to all, intricate and intelligent in design plus children LOVE them!
Not only is there never ending creative potential but it enables children to become more observant of the world around them.
Incidental learning occurs via activating their senses to determine and discover what something looks like, where it comes from, what it feels like, smells like, sounds like and quite often when curiosity gets the better of them…what it tastes like!
When given the freedom to let their imaginations run wild children become innovators, designers, explorers, entrepreneurs, artists and collaborators as they build, sort, design, manipulate, arrange and stack natural materials in a variety of different ways.
In the process they are able to further develop their understanding of the world, expand their vocabulary, problem solve, practice numeracy and get an idea of mathematical concepts like size, weight and volume all under the clever disguise of play.
Stuck for ideas of what you can do at home? Contact [email protected] for some suggestions of super simple and cost effective activities you can do at home using natural resources to encourage open ended play!
Or if you want to take the fuss out of it check out the incredible sensory kits from .com.au that are all bundled up and prepped ready to go! ✨

On location last School Holidays at Noosa National Park 🤩
Also known as paradise right here on Earth being ever so perfectly placed right where the forest meets the sea 🌏🌊🍃
A natural resource based sensory playspace was created for a private group of little ones to explore 🌿✨
As we all gathered, guided and supported the children in their play we grown ups also chatted and in the moment I had a realisation…
Tips and tricks were shared, life changing products were recommended, birth stories were recalled and all of a sudden something clicked…
While I knew supporting parents would be an aspect of the Earthlings journey I didn’t expect it to take centre stage and become one of the genuine highlights of the offerings
Looking forward to creating more opportunities for children to learn and for parents to connect creating a greater sense of community and belonging for all 💚

We are not separate from the natural world but in fact very much so a part of it.
There is much to learn via our senses and children tend to gravitate towards the sights, smells and textures of natural materials with curiosity and fascination noticing all the miraculous details
Sometimes grown ups forget to stop and smell the flowers, failing to appreciate the intricacy and craftsmanship of a spider web or enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a perfectly spiraled pinecone but with any luck a child will remind us before it's too late!
Bookings available for this School Holidays - Email [email protected] to find out more!

Shout out to all the parents doing their very best or as close to it as you could manage for today...
With an ever increasing collective pressure to aim for perfection in all that we do while staying on top of everything life throws our way it can be pretty overwhelming at times conjuring up feelings of inadequacy and fear.
There is no such thing as a perfect parent, partner, friend, employee or role model for a child and there is definitely no way to escape this life without making a few mistakes but if we can be patient, be loving and be kind then I reckon everything is going to be quite alright!
So if today you feel you fell a little short, remember you are only human, perfect is the enemy of good and tomorrow is a new day 💚
