Scientific evidence shows us the positive effects of doing kind acts for others as well as receiving or even witnessing kindness.

Bin less and recycle more this festive season!

How?
1. Order a green waste recycling vin to get your yard looking its best over the summer break (if your in Brisbane City Council)
2. Recycle used wrapping paper or choose recycled if buying new - OR even better, use old newspaper or fabric you might already have around the house.
3. Avoid over-catering! This will save you space in your fridge and help manage leftovers. Also ask your guests to BYO their containers for the leftovers.
4. Find your Christmas Day outfit by getting thrifty at your local op shop, hiring a designer number or restyling what you already own.

Do you have other tips? Let us know what they are in the comments.

Sustainability.

What does it mean to you?

For us at 'Sustainability' focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.

DID YOU KNOW?

Composting or worm farming is a fantastic way to reduce your household's food waste going to landfill.

AND

Brisbane City Council is making purchasing your organic recycling system easier with their compost rebate program. The program provides eligible Brisbane residents a rebate of up to $70 off the purchase of eligible composting equipment.

Check out their website to find out how to claim the rebate.

IT'S COMPLICATED.

You care about the planet, and would like to avoid bottles and other goods made of single-use plastic.

Choosing products with packaging that claims to be 'biodegradable' or 'compostable' might mean that they degrade only under special conditions.

Did you know?
Paper looking bottles : are seen as a possible option to replace plastic ones. Paper is recyclable...RIGHT?

Paper-based bottles and containers tend to be made with several layers of materials other than paper - including plastic or foil.

So these products only work, if you are going to strip away the layers and recycle the paper.

What to know more about our labeling? Keep reading our posts but you can also check out the Planet Ark recycling near you page.
