Temporary Graduate visa 🇦🇺

Last time we shared with you a post regarding updated working hours for international students. But that is not all good news 🇦🇺

The government also announced that a two-year extension of post-study work rights is available for international graduates with select degrees that are in areas of verified skill shortage.

This extension will give eligible international higher education graduates an additional two years on their Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485). 

For select Bachelor degrees, post-study work rights will be increased from two to four years, three to five years for select Masters degrees, and four to six years for all doctoral qualifications.

This rule will be valid also from the 1st of July, 2023.

Since last summer the Australian government increased working hours to 40 hours per fortnight. This year the government decided to make even better conditions for international students and working hours will be increased from 40 hours to 48 hours per fortnight. The new rule will be valid from July 1 📌

Can you move to Australia after 45?🇦🇺

What is this question - many of you may be surprised. When you are 45 and above- you still can change your life and move to another country, right? 

But if you already were interested about visas to Australia-  you saw that many visas have an age limit - 44.

Australia is more interested in young immigrants or students who can “grow” in Australian society. But it doesn’t mean that if you are 45 - you don’t have chances. 

What are your options⤵️

✔️The employer sponsored temporary visa- TSS (subclass 482) has no age limit and can sometimes provide a pathway to a permanent visa.
✔️Business visas may be a possibility if you meet particular requirements.

❓Many of our clients ask if they can apply for a partner visa for their spouse.

👉🏻The answer is Yes, but you should be prepared that this is a long-lasting process. 

You must collect all necessary documents and proof that:

▫️you are married not less than 12 months.
▫️you have a steady home together.
▫️your marriage is sincere and long-lasting.

⏳Usually it takes time to get a partner visa so you have to be prepared to wait.

Approximately timing:

* 309 Provisional Visa- 15 months
* 100- Permanent Visa- 23 months

IELTS news📌

We have very good news for you. Finally it will be possible to retake IELTS for one component (listening, reading, writing or speaking) if you didn’t get a score on the first attempt.

☝🏻These changes will be valid from March 2023.

Until that time students have to retake the entire test if they want to get better scores.

Student Visa Holders are increasing in Australia 📈

Applications for student visas—an indicator of future student numbers, are at record levels now. And student visas granted for July and August 2022 are the highest compared to previous years 👍🏻

But this growth is not shared equally around the university sector. It is the larger, more prestigious universities that are likely to benefit the most from students coming back. 

Last month's 2022-23 budget included Labor's election policies to increase university places by 20,000 and provide 180,000 fee-free TAFE spots.  This will have the biggest impact on funding for universities and TAFEs.

But still we need to look at Australia's international education policy (which determines where international students study and what they pay), before we hope for TAFE fee-free spots☝🏻
