And just like that, the ASC Social Clubs for Term 2, have concluded. We have shared weeks of fun, memories, and connection while exploring some new venues, as well as old ones.

Thank you for coming together each week, brightening up our Tuesdays with such positivity and enthusiasm.

Last Tuesday was well spent with our adults and teens. Watching their bonds grow each week, and seeing them continue to discover common interests, is what it is all about.

Some of our participants will often let me know how safe they feel amongst the group, where they can just be themselves without any judgement.

This was reinforced very recently when I received the message below form one of our teens, reminding me of the importance of creating safe, authentic and valuable social opportunities.

Last Tuesday, both of our social clubs visited The Ballpark at Portside. Our teens enjoyed playing digital darts, while our adults (who had a little more time) explored darts and the batting cages.
The adults also had a chance to enjoy some yummy food, delivered by neighbouring eatery, Dumbo. We will be back! 🎯⚾️

Every alternate week, our clubs visit a local eatery, where we order snacks or dinner, share news, have meaningful discussions and sometimes, even help each other problem solve things that may pop up.

We also love to connect together over a range of fun shared games, which not only provides us with plenty of laughs, but also the chance for further discussion. We also learn fun facts about each other, and random things, along the way!

I just love spending Tuesdays, with these guys!

Last Tuesday, our adults and teens loved connecting and having fun together at Archie’s Arcade, one of their favourite venues. Thank you for having us, Archies!

This week, we embraced Cinco de Mayo, and visited Guzman y Gomez, for some burritos and snacks. We also enjoyed chats, playing some new games and of course, plenty of laughs! 🇲🇽🌵

Last Tuesday, our young adults had some fun at the Victoria Park Driving Range…and it seems we have some budding golfers amongst us! ⛳️

In the mean time, our teens had a great afternoonoon bowling🎳, after they had shared news and also helped out a friend in need of support. Such a kind bunch!

Last Tuesday, our social clubs returned after their Easter break. Our teens celebrated a birthday, with a visit to one of their favourite venues, Howard Smith Wharves, while our young adults caught up over snacks, chats and games, by the river at Merthyr Bowls Club. Welcome back, everyone!

Last Tuesday, we enjoyed our last session together for Term 1….time sure does fly when you’re having fun!

A special thank you to the ASC Teen and Young Adult Social Club participants for always coming along with a smile and positive attitude. See you all again in Term 2.

Our young adults got into the competitive spirit playing laser tag, while our teens visited Meta 3 VR. Another Tuesday afternoon and evening, well spent!
