💙 Today at LEAD Childcare Tingalpa, we proudly celebrated Jeans for Genes Day! 💙

Our educators and children dressed in their favourite jeans to show their support for this wonderful cause. The centre was filled with blue decorations, including beautiful blue balloons, and the children enjoyed delicious blue cupcakes for afternoon tea.

Throughout the day, the children participated in a variety of engaging learning experiences that encouraged creativity, curiosity, and conversations about helping others. Thank you to our wonderful families and educators for supporting this meaningful day and helping us make a difference together. 💙👖

100 Languages of Reggio Emilia – Exploring The Rainbow Book Through Colour

This term, our nursery children are exploring the beautiful story The Rainbow Book as part of our 100 Languages of Reggio Emilia project. Each week, we revisit one page of the book during our yarning circle, allowing children to connect with the story, the colours of Country, and the changing natural environment.

Each colour in the story inspires a week of meaningful learning experiences. Red represents the land baking under the hot sun, orange reflects the glowing sunsets, gold/yellow celebrates the blooming flowers, and green represents the fresh shooting leaves that appear after the rain, bringing new life and growth to Country.

Children are invited to explore these colours through a variety of sensory experiences, painting, cooking, loose parts play, nature exploration, and creative arts. By revisiting the story each week, children build familiarity with the book, express their ideas through many different “languages” of learning, and develop an appreciation for nature, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and the beauty of Australia’s landscapes.

💙 Jeans for Genes Day is coming to LEAD Childcare Tingalpa! 👖

On Thursday, 6th August, we’ll be wearing our favourite jeans to support Jeans for Genes Australia and help raise funds for children and families affected by genetic diseases.

We invite all of our children, families, and educators to join in by wearing their jeans and, if you’re able, making a donation to our fundraiser. Every contribution helps support vital research, improve treatments, and give hope to families living with genetic conditions.

This term, our Pre-Kindy children are learning about safety in their environment and identifying the trusted educators they can go to for help and support. The educators created mind maps using the children’s voices, encouraging them to share their ideas about what helps them feel safe and who they trust at our service.

Miss Kirsty also introduced the children to our morning and afternoon safety checklists. She explained how educators carefully check the environment each day to keep everyone safe. The children actively participated by helping Miss Kirsty check the temperature, look for any hazards in the yard, and make sure the safety mats were in place. This hands-on experience helped the children develop an understanding of safety routines, responsibility, and the importance of working together to create a safe learning environment.

This learning experience supports children’s sense of wellbeing, promotes agency, and helps them build confidence in recognising safe practices and trusted adults within their early learning environment.

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone—15 years with LEAD Tingalpa! Congratulations, Miss Amanda! You are an amazing educator, and we are so lucky to have you as part of our LEAD family. Your kindness, care, and hard work have made a big difference to the children, families, and our team.

Thank you for always giving your best and going above and beyond every day. You have grown so much over the years, and we know you have so much more to achieve. We are proud of everything you have done and can’t wait to see what the future brings. Congratulations on your 15 years with LEAD Tingalpa! 💙🎉

This week, the children were invited to participate in a variety of learning experiences to celebrate NAIDOC Week. We used natural resources throughout our activities to help the children connect with nature while encouraging an appreciation and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Through these hands-on experiences, the children explored, created, and learned about the importance of caring for Country and the natural environment.
