🎉I wonder, have you caught the reading bug? 🎉

A lovely lady just gave me an idea. Thank you ☺️

Here’s some “inside the book” pictures for you.

With people unable to physically flick through books at the shops and the technical difficulties I am having with my website upgrades *eugh*.... no one has been able to have a decent look at The Reading Bug.

I can’t believe I overlooked this.

I am one of those people who like to have a good look before purchasing.

Anyway.. here she is!! (*Missing pages as 10 photos is the insta limit)

Years ago, I searched for a picture book that visually showed my reluctant/disengaged readers how magical the right book for them can be.

I was frustrated that there were so many books available, yet, none actually showed how children catch the reading bug.

As Beverly Cleary famously said: "If you don't see the book you want on the shelves, write it.”

So...That’s what I did.🎉

This is for all the teachers and parents out there

The ones who are working their hardest everyday to help their children advance and have positive reading experiences...

The ones who lay awake at night, rattling their brain, thinking of ways and things to try in order to help their students/kids develop and succeed in all aspects of life, not only in education/reading.

This book is for you, your kids and most importantly your reluctant and disengaged readers.

Can I ask a favour from you, I would be eternally grateful if you shared this post with your insta community (also if you bought a copy 😜).

Self-publishing is hard. Any and every bit of exposure and publicity helps.

It may even set off a chain reaction... ending up with a reluctant reader independently picking up a book.
You never know. ☺️

I have also now made all my matching resources free to help you out!

Have a great weekend. 🤍Shona

It will be strange commemorating ANZAC Day at home this year.

In order to keep the ANZAC Spirit alive in our household, we are reading a lot of ANZAC Day themed books and are creating lots of ANZAC Day inspired artwork.

Check out the link below if you are a little stuck on ideas on how to incorporate ANZAC Day commemorations into your homeschooling life.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest We Forget”
