Lepus Lumen Brisbane — Expressions of Interest Now Open

Lepus Lumen is now taking expressions of interest for an upcoming free, in-person witchcraft course. This is a seven-month programme, meeting fortnightly, with a strong emphasis on practical, experiential work.

Due to the hands-on nature of the course, places are limited and the intake will be a small, focused group. Initial sessions will be held in and around Dutton Park.

Expressions of interest are open until 6 February. Applicants will then be invited to an interview round, with sessions scheduled to commence in late March.

This intake will begin in early 2025 and will include the 14 lesson program on the fundamentals of witchcraft, including practical exercises, discussions and supplementary materials. Delivery will be in person, supported by an online community.

Lepus Lumen is an inclusive, eclectic group of witches, pagans and polytheists with a focus on providing our students with a workable framework of understanding that can be applied in many different contexts and traditions.

🧹 Just 100 days left until the witchy event of the year: the Australian Wiccan Conference 2024! One of the country's oldest pagan gatherings celebrating 40 years, we can't wait to share a weekend with you of ritual, live pagan folk music performances, lectures, panels and magickal merriment over 3 days.

🐦 Fully run by volunteers, this event is not-for-profit and hosted by a different group from each state each year. This year's event is run by Lepus Lumen and we are so excited to see you there.

🎉 This year's event will be in-person, from the 20th-22nd September 2024 with the theme of ‘Then, Now, Next: Celebrating 40 Years’.

🌳 The conference will be held in a picturesque location in regional Victoria approximately 1 hour’s drive northwest of Melbourne, near the border of the Woiwurrung and Wathaurong territories of the Kulin Nation.

About Your 2024 Hosts

Each year, the Australian Wiccan Conference is hosted by a different group around Australia. In 2024 your AWC is presented by Lepus Lumen.

Lepus Lumen (Latin: “light rabbit”/”light hare”) is an affiliation of covens, outercourts and study groups committed to providing quality education and resources to seekers of witchcraft and Paganism.

We are an inclusive, eclectic group of witches, pagans and polytheists with a focus on providing our students with a framework that can be applied in many different contexts and traditions.

Currently, Lepus Lumen classes are held in Dja Dja Wurrung Country, Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country, Yagarubul Country, and Bindjareb and Whadjuk Boodja (so-called Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia).

12 study group intakes for our Introduction to Witchcraft course have been held since our establishment in 2019. We are committed to providing free teaching and resources to our community, prioritising individual student needs, different teacher’s strengths and accessibility.

Our volunteers involved in bringing you this year’s conference have many years of experience attending, and organising pagan community events (including past AWCs). As a delightful bonus, for the AWC’s 40th anniversary, several of our teachers are also celebrating our 40th Solar Return this year – 1984 was a fantastic year!

Delivery will be in person south of Perth, Western Australia, supported by an online community. This course is free, but there is an expectation of commitment.

An Invitation to a Community Working to support Frontline Workers: January 2022 Full Moon.

Join in a Community Working this full moon to build an energetic web of support to strengthen and heal frontline workers serving our community. A Sigil has been crafted to provide a focus for the working. How your working takes shape is at your discretion. We have provided a brief outline of the Sigil, it’s meaning and suggestions on how it may be used. The working can be a one off, continued for a set time frame or indefinitely.

Expressions of interest are now open for Lepus Lumen's Central Victorian study group!

This is a free course. Sessions run fortnightly and are in person. We also host seasonal rituals in Creswick which are optional to attend. Successful applicants for this study group will be ideally based in Central Victoria or willing to travel regularly.
