Today we proudly wore our favourite denim to celebrate Jeans for Genes Day! 💙👖

It was wonderful to see our children, families and educators getting involved to support such an important cause. Together, we’re helping raise awareness and funds for vital genetic research that makes a real difference to the lives of children and families across Australia.

Today Miss Mel and Miss Emma attended Yarns for Jajumms, our monthly local community connection group focused on embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
This month's session explored Indigenous perspectives in nature play, so we brought along Miss Riley, who leads our Bush Kindy program with The Canopy. Together we listened, learned and reflected, and even had the opportunity to build a fire and boil water using a Kelly Kettle.
A wonderful reminder to slow down, connect, and learn from Country.

We’re at NAIDOC for Jarjumms 2026 right now! 🖤💛❤️

Our Bask Early Learning Springwood Educational Leaders, Mel and Emma, are at Springwood Road State School this morning celebrating National NAIDOC Week alongside families, services and community.

This year’s national theme is “50 Years of Deadly,” marking five decades of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and stories. We’re so proud to be here for it.

Here’s what’s happening around us:
🖤 A Welcome to Country and opening ceremony to bring everyone together
💛 Booran Dancers from Harris Fields State School getting ready to perform, with Torres Strait Islander Dancers from Tana Fire still to come
❤️ Ochre rock painting, natural loose parts and hands-on play at our stall
🖤 A community mural where children and families are adding their own mark to take back to our service
💛 Beautiful artwork by Adrian Chapman, proud Wakka Wakka artist, on display with us
❤️ Fresh damper and plenty of yarning

🚤🐻 Theodore’s Big Adventure! ☀️🏖️

Theodore had an exciting day out on the water! He even had a turn driving the boat before heading ashore to enjoy some fun in the sand. What a fantastic adventure! 🌊⚓️

We can’t wait to see where Theo goes next! If your family would like to take Theo on an adventure and share his special memories with us, don’t forget you can book him out at the front desk.

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful Miss Relle as she begins an exciting new adventure closer to home. We celebrated with a fun PJ day and a teddy bears picnic.

For the past 7 years, Relle has been a constant and caring presence in our centre, building meaningful relationships with so many children, families, and educators. Her kindness, warmth, and dedication have touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by us all.

While we’re sad to see her go, we’re so excited for this next chapter and wish her every happiness and success. Thank you Relle for everything you’ve given to our Bask family, you’ll always be a part of it! 🤍
