🌱 Building Connections Through Culture

Today marked the beginning of a new partnership between Bouncing Panda and Sunkids Children's Centre.

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is supporting early learning communities to create meaningful multicultural experiences for children.

This week, children explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar through Mandarin vocabulary, storytelling and sensory play. By connecting language with movement, imagination and hands-on experiences, children develop confidence while having fun.

We are grateful to work alongside passionate educators who recognise the importance of exposing children to different languages and cultures from an early age.

Together, we're helping children become curious, confident and globally minded learners.

🌿 Celebrating Meaningful Cultural Learning

As a long-term partner of Green Leaves Early Learning Carindale, I am always inspired by the meaningful learning experiences created within the centre. During a recent visit to deliver one of our sessions, I noticed this beautiful Kabul the Carpet Snake cultural display, which reflects the centre’s commitment to embedding First Nations perspectives into children's everyday learning.

What stood out was not only the creativity of the artwork but the commitment behind it. Through ongoing connections with First Nations community members and the sharing of Quandamooka stories, children are given opportunities to engage with Aboriginal culture in meaningful and respectful ways.

Experiences like these help young learners develop an appreciation for Australia's rich cultural heritage while fostering inclusion, empathy and community connection from an early age.

At Bouncing Panda, we value partnerships with centres that actively embrace cultural diversity and create authentic learning experiences for children and families.

Thank you to the team at Green Leaves Carindale for demonstrating how culture, storytelling and community can come together to enrich early childhood education.

Learning never stops. 🌱

I'm excited to share that I've been recognised as an Outstanding Learner after completing the "Understanding Modern China Through AI" program organised by the Chinese Education Foundation of China.

As an educator and founder of Bouncing Panda, I believe that the best teachers remain lifelong learners. Every new insight helps me create more meaningful and engaging Chinese learning experiences for the children, families, and educators we work with.

🌟 Exciting News from Bouncing Panda! 🌟

We’re delighted to share two exciting milestones for Bouncing Panda this week.

🐼 First, following positive feedback from our existing programs, Sunkids Children's Centres has expressed interest in expanding the Bouncing Panda Chinese Language and Cultural Program to additional centres across Brisbane.

This is a wonderful opportunity to bring language learning and cultural experiences to even more children and families.

🎓 Secondly, our founder Rosa has been awarded a scholarship through the Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Scholarship Program to study the Cert IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business at TAFE Queensland.

This opportunity will support the continued growth of Bouncing Panda as we work towards delivering high-quality Chinese language and cultural programs across more early learning centres and community spaces.

Thank you to our partner centres, families, libraries, and community supporters who continue to believe in our vision.

Learning never stops—even after you‘ve built the program

This Tuesday was a 5‑hour On Wings of Wonder facilitator training day.

Not because we don‘t already have a curriculum. Not because something was missing.

Because the best way to serve children, families and the educators we partner with is to keep learning—quietly, consistently, without fanfare.

A few things that landed well:

🔹 Brain development in the early years – how attachment, repetition and safety literally build neural pathways
🔹 The power of nursery rhymes, simple songs and oral storytelling (things we already use in every Mandarin session, now backed by even more neuro‑science)
🔹 Practical tools to support early literacy, numeracy, motor skills and emotional regulation through play
🔹 How to help parents feel confident as their child‘s first mentor—because we’re not just teaching children, we‘re supporting families

What I loved most wasn‘t a certificate or a checklist. It was the reminder that good early childhood practice is joyful, relational, and deeply human.

Bouncing Panda doesn’t shout about every training day. But we show up. We listen. We get better. Then we bring that back to the kindergartens, libraries and families we work with.

That‘s the quiet part. And that’s the part that matters.
