Mateship Beyond Service

The uniform comes off, but mateship doesn’t have to.

One of the biggest strengths we carried from service is the bond between people who’ve had each other’s backs.

That doesn’t disappear — it just looks different now.
It’s a coffee, a phone call, or a simple check-in.

One of the best lessons we learnt in service?
Focus on what you can control.

But once you leave, it’s so easy to get stuck in the noise of everything you can’t control — job markets, politics, other people’s choices.

That’s why I always come back to the basics:
✔ When I wake up
✔ Moving my body every day
✔ Doing one important thing I promised myself

It’s not about fixing everything. It’s about steadying yourself where you can.
