The children have been collecting and experimenting with natural elements such as rocks, dry clay, soil and sand. By grinding rocks, crushing dried clay, and mixing different types of earth, they are uncovering a variety of textures, tones, and colours. As they explore, children are learning about transformation—how materials can change when they are broken, mixed, or combined with water. They have been discovering how the land offers its own rich and diverse palette, exploring its beauty and range of possibilities within the land around them.
