Luring lights ✨ Light tables are an engaging resource in play and there are so many ways for children to use them.
It has been nice to take a step back from social media posting for a while. I didn’t realise how many different responsibilities I had, running my own business over the years. I love being able to work with centres on their stand-out Early Childhood environments.
If there is something you are working on in your centre QIP or for Assessment & Rating, you are welcome to email or DM me for assistance with your furniture and resource requirements.

🤩 BIG changes in progress here. Trust what lights you up!
What does this mean for you?
Reflecting on experiences is an important part of self-awareness and growth in your journey. Swipe to see a few snapshots in time, back to our very first family daycare space.
There is no denying that creating inviting spaces and provocations for children has brought me so much joy over my 15+ years of experience in Early Childhood and Primary settings. It has been a wonderful journey and it all began with a love for working with children and families.
These photos were taken at different times in my career and give you a little bit of insight into a big change I have just embarked on in my life.
The last few months has involved a lot of reflection for me, professionally. And I am almost ready to tell you what changes that brings. But I’ll leave it there for now, exciting news incoming to share with you all, really soon!!

In the end, she became more than what she expected.
She became the journey, and like all journeys, she did not end.
She just simply changed directions and kept going. - R.M Drake

A great article for parents/carers in the current situation as there are uncertainties heading back to a new school year.
I’ve recently had many conversations about homeschooling and ‘learning at home’ (yes, they are different) and many parents worry how their child will learn. What does this bring up for you?
I began my studies with Bachelor of Education (Primary) and quickly realised working in the school system wasn’t for me. I continued the path of learning more about Early Childhood where the children lead their play, their learning.
Learning Is Not Linear: How Unschooled Children Learn - Happiness is here “…people today do not even know what children are actually like. They only know what children are like in schools.” “It is […]

Do you remember that tree you used to climb in childhood? 🍃
Perhaps you recall it because you felt
so much joy and you simply discovered a lot from the experience. Tree climbing is a whole body experience that develops both large motor skills (push, pull, lunge, squat) and fine motor (grasping, gripping). Not to mention strength, balance, concentration, resilience, coordination, connection to self and nature, that our children (and adults too!) benefit from.
Tree climbing undoubtedly requires risk assessment from the parent or caregiver because there are clear risks involved. It’s an individual decision and safety is a vital consideration. I know how I feel when my children take new and different kinds of risks and it is a worthwhile learning process for us all! 😬
Tree climbing can be a very uplifting risky play experience that allows children to move through their fears and boost their confidence. Think about how they explore testing branches, finding footings, holding tight and looking back at heights! The child is able to risk assess on the go.
Children aren’t getting outside as regularly as they used to. Over scheduling children’s time with extra curricular activities is becoming more common in children’s lives. However, if we give our children the time and space for unstructured play, it enables them to develop NATURALLY in multiple ways ♥️
