STEM MAD Success! 🚀🔥

We are so proud of our Year 5/6 students who showcased their innovative STEM projects at the STEM MAD Online Showcase this week. Their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills were on full display as they presented solutions to real-world challenges.

🌿 Georgia, Sophi and Abbie developed D, D & D (Detect, Defend & Drench), a bushfire safety system that detects embers in gutters and automatically activates water sprayers to help protect homes from fire.

🚒 Alex, George and Isaac created RescueRoute, a rescue robot designed to help firefighters locate people trapped in homes during natural disasters.

🔥 Frankie, Milan, Aliyah and Mae designed Bush Fire Preventor, an early bushfire detection and response system using sensors, drones and a custom app to help firefighters act quickly.

🎉 A special congratulations to Mae, Frankie, Aliyah and Milan, whose project Bush Fire Preventor was awarded the People's Choice Award. What an incredible achievement!

Our Year 4 students stepped back in time today, experiencing a taste of life as an early colonist! They mixed, cooked and enjoyed their very own damper, learning how this simple bread was a staple food for many early settlers. It was a hands-on history lesson that was both educational and delicious! 😋

🌼 R U OK? Day at Guardian Angels! 💛 🌼

Yesterday our amazing Year 5/6 students spent time discussing different ways they can check in on their friends and classmates for R U OK? Day.
From simple questions like “How are you really feeling today?” to “Is there anything I can help you with?”, students shared thoughtful and caring ways to start important conversations. 💛
To help keep kindness front and centre, they wrote their ideas on notes and placed them around our classroom door. Now, every time they walk in and out, they'll be reminded to look out for one another and take the time to ask, “R U OK?”✨

Sometimes a small question can make a big difference. We are so proud of our students for showing empathy, compassion and a commitment to creating a supportive community where everyone feels seen, heard and valued. 💙💚

Today our Prep and Year 1 students enjoyed a fun and engaging visit from the Ditto Show, learning about feeling safe, speaking up, and understanding personal boundaries.

With Child Protection Week underway, it’s a timely reminder that every conversation matters. Those little chats at home help children feel confident, heard, and protected.

Thank you to our early years teachers for creating spaces where children feel safe and supported, and to our families for the ongoing conversations that make safety a shared responsibility 💙💚

What a wonderful week celebrating reading, imagination and creativity! Our Character Parade was filled with colourful costumes, favourite book characters and plenty of smiles as students proudly showcased their love of reading.

A huge thank you to Mrs Vester and our amazing Year 5 & 6 students for their fantastic performance, and to author Samantha Wheeler for her inspiring visit and for sharing the magic of storytelling with our students.

Thank you to our families for helping make Book Week such a special event. We loved seeing our school community come together to celebrate the joy of books and reading! 💙💚📖

Our Prep students have been exploring the Science topic of Living Things and today we created Echidnas with RAW ART.
Students designed and created collaborative artworks inspired by Echidnas. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity and communication while also helping students develop important teamwork skills.
We are so proud of the way our Prep learners worked together to share ideas, support one another and create such wonderful pieces of art! 💙💚🦔
