Today was a very special day for our Kindy children — we practiced using our big school lunchboxes! Each child brought their very own lunchbox from home, and together we enjoy our meal just like we will in Prep.

It was beautiful to see their confidence shining through — Little steps like this make the transition to big school so much smoother.

🦖 Roar! Our Toddlers Created Their Own Dinosaur Headpieces! 🦕

Our toddler room transformed into a mini dinosaur world this week as the children designed and created their very own dinosaur headpieces! With colourful paper, stickers, and lots of imagination, each child crafted a roaring masterpiece that truly showed their creativity.

They explored shapes, practiced cutting and gluing, and proudly decorated their headpieces with spiky plates, big eyes, and fun patterns. Once finished, the room came alive with little dinosaurs stomping, growling, and giggling together.

This activity not only sparked their creativity but also encouraged confidence, self-expression, and plenty of playful pretend exploration.

What an exciting prehistoric adventure for our toddlers! 🦕✨

🧱 Building with Bricks and Concrete Muds! 🏗️

Our Pre-Kindy children have been diving into the exciting world of construction play! With little hands busy and big imaginations at work, they explored how bricks and “concrete mud” (cement mixture) come together to build strong structures.

Through mixing, stacking, and balancing, the children discovered the importance of teamwork, patience, and problem-solving — just like real builders on a worksite! 🚧 They experimented with textures, observed how wet mud helps bricks stick, and proudly created their very own mini buildings.

What a fantastic hands-on way to learn about how our homes, schools, and cities are built — one brick at a time! 🧱✨

🎒 Getting Ready for Big School! 🎒

Our Kindy children have been learning all about their new school — an exciting new chapter ahead! 📚✨

Together, they enjoyed reading the story “My New School” and shared their thoughts about what might happen on their first day — from meeting new teachers and friends to finding their classroom and playing in the big playground. 🏫💬

Through these discussions, the children are building confidence, understanding routines, and feeling more prepared for their next big adventure — starting school!

🌱 Little Hands, Big Hearts

After learning about the recent typhoon and flooding in Hualien, Taiwan, the children at Tzu Chi Early Learning Brisbane were inspired to help. 💕

With their teachers’ guidance, they baked and packaged cookies and wrote heartfelt blessing cards. These were shared in exchange for gold coin donations — each cookie pack filled with love and care. 🍪✨

One child said, “This coin is my reward for going to the toilet — I want to donate it so they can buy food.” Another added, “Let’s give it to shigu and shibo (Tzu Chi volunteers) so they can help clean up.”

Together, the children raised AUD $213 (around TWD $4,000), which has been donated to Tzu Chi Foundation Taiwan to support relief and recovery efforts. 🙏

Through this meaningful experience, our little ones showed big hearts — learning empathy, kindness, and the joy of giving. 💖

🦕 Dino Discoveries Through Play! 🦖

Our toddlers have been diving into the fascinating world of dinosaurs through play! 🌋 Using toy dinosaurs, sensory trays, and creative activities, the children explored how dinosaurs might have moved, what they ate, and where they lived. 🐾🌿

The highlight of the week was creating their very own dinosaur masterpieces! 🎨 Using paint, paper, and lots of imagination, the children designed colourful dinosaurs — each one unique and full of personality. 🖌️💚

Through these playful and creative experiences, our little learners developed their curiosity, language, and fine motor skills — all while roaring, stomping, and having dino-sized fun! 🦕✨
