This morning started out a little bit rough as we woke up to a massive thunder/ lightning storm here in the south east. With a power outage and minimal reception to boot. 🌩☔️

We werent sure if we could even open!

Then I remembered we have the capacity to turn any percieved negative to a positive!

The perfect opportunity to camp inside and learn all about the importance of a storm emergency box ⛺️🪵

We found our tent, torches, lanterns, blankets and cooking equipment.

One of our Amazing Mammas even brought in her secret stash of glow sticks for a dance party!!

Shifting from nervousness and uncertainty to the greatest impromtu play and learning EVER!! 🥳

A Childs capacity to learn is directly tied to how safe their nervous system feels 🌻

Whether it be eating fruits and veggies straight out of the gardens, getting messy mixing up enchanted concoctions in the mud kitchen, climbing trees or simply having a rest watching the bees and butterflies flutter past us down the back gardens. 🐝🌿🦋

We are wholesome environment where Kids are actually given the time and space to actually BE KIDS!!

Let Kids BE Kids 👌

I was talking to a lovely Mamma this morning...🌻

She asked me "How do you keep the kids calm and entertained when its been raining for a week? I bet they are getting cabin fever!!"

A little trick I use is having certain toys that only come out when they are really needed (or learning specific)

One of those toys is Airtoobs.
If you dont know what they are- I highly recommend you look them up!
There are so many various ways they can be constructed and games you can come up with along the way.
Good for young children and the older ones too.

These keep the Munchkins learning, moving and working together as a team for hours.. and its simply a whole lot of Fun!! 🙌

Lately the children have been completely obsessed with the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears, often asking for me to sit down read it to them... over and over again!

So in the name of empowerment we transformed the Autumn play shelves into an interactive story scene. Where the children could play out their favourite book together!

It was wonderful to witness each child choose their character and work together to accomplish their combined goals and build relationship not only with eachother but with the characters too.

This form of story play promotes better comprehension and sequencing. Ideal for building upon the foundations of reading and writting in the early years in a joyful manner 💜🐻✨️

Turns out Mothers day is also reserved for Fairy Godmother energy and I was pleasantly suprised with beautiful sunshiny flowers and hand drawn masterpieces!

These kids are constantly stealing my Heart ✨️
