🎶 St Thomas’ Choirs Raise Their Voices for Reconciliation 🎶

As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026, St Thomas’ Choirs proudly took part in Voices for Reconciliation, joining choirs from across the country in song.

This year’s song, Beds Are Burning by Midnight Oil, is a powerful land rights anthem and a meaningful call to action. With the 2026 theme All In, National Reconciliation Week encourages all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation each and every day 💛🖤❤️

Our Year 5 students had a wonderful time at camp last week, making memories, building friendships and taking on lots of exciting activities! From beach games, kayaking and team challenges that saw students stepping into their courage zone, to singing, dancing and a fun-filled games night, there were plenty of smiles along the way. What a fantastic experience for our Year 5 students!

Our Year 5 students proudly represented St Thomas’ at the Mathematical Minds Tournament. Working alongside other BCE schools, they tackled challenging problem-solving tasks with perseverance, teamwork and a fantastic mathematical mindset. We are so proud of our brilliant young mathematicians!

💐 ❤️ 💐 On Friday we celebrated Mother’s Day at St Thomas’, giving thanks for the mums, grandmothers, aunts and special female role models who enrich our community with their love, care and support. Our morning was filled with coffee and chats, a beautiful and meaningful liturgy, and special classroom visits for our Prep families. Sincere thanks to our P&F for their support with the coffee morning and Mother’s Day stall. We also hold in our hearts those in our community who may be marking this day without their mum 💐 ❤️ 💐

Last term, our students took part in Disability Awareness Week, building empathy and understanding through hands-on activities. They explored what it can be like to live with physical, hearing and vision impairment, and learned more about neurodiversity and mental health. A big thank you to our special visitors—Australian Paralympic athletes Gerrard Gosens and Jake Mitchel, and Wendy and Ben from Sporting Wheelies—for sharing their experiences and inspiring our community to keep championing inclusion and respect.

Our Senior Leaders have kicked off their incredible initiative with ! They packed 100 lunches, lovingly prepared by our Parish community, ready to be delivered to local schools. This is a practical way we’re living out our Gospel values —serving those in need, upholding human dignity, and working for the common good.

Can you help?

We’re looking for anyone available on a Tuesday morning to assist with delivery (or if you know someone who might be). Please get in touch.

To assist The Tukka Project continue this amazing work, they also need assistance with funding. Sadly, some corporate support is linked to social media engagement—so you can also help simply by liking and sharing this post or heading to The Tukka Project social media page to do the same 🙏

Lest We Forget 🌺
Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have served and continue to serve our communities.
ANZAC Day is a reminder of the strength that comes from unity, and the importance of remembering the stories that shaped our history.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning - we will remember them.
