Grandparents and Special Persons Day is always a highlight on our school calendar, and this year was no exception. We welcomed over 400 grandparents and special persons to St Thomas’ for a beautiful morning of connection, celebration and community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a memorable occasion. We are truly grateful for the love, support and encouragement our grandparents and special persons bring to our school community 💙💛

We loved celebrating Under 8s Day with our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students! As part of this special week that shines a light on the importance of early childhood development, students enjoyed a fun-filled day of hands-on activities including making paper kites, puppets and boats, as well as playing traditional outdoor games such as sack races, hopscotch, skipping and quoits. It was a joyful day of creativity, play and learning for our youngest students.

Our Year 1 students have been exploring all things weather in Science, learning about sunny days, windy skies and rainy weather. Inspired by the rain, they used their creativity to create beautiful artworks that captured the colours, patterns and feelings of a rainy day. What a wonderful way to connect science and art through hands-on learning! ☔🎨

🏆 A very special Semester One Awards Assembly! 🏆
We came together at the end of Semester 1 to celebrate the achievements of our students during the first half of the year. There was an extra buzz of excitement with the NRL and WNRL trophies on display!
A big thank you to Mr P for organising this special opportunity for St Thomas’. We are very grateful to have had the trophies loaned to us for our assembly.

Our Prep students had a wonderful day at the Ekka’s Rural Discovery Day, bringing their Science unit on animals to life through interactive, hands-on learning. From exploring the wool workshop and learning about the journey of an egg, to discovering composting with worms, creating their very own scarecrows, the day was full of rich learning experiences. What an exciting way to connect classroom learning with the world around us!

For the love of writing! 📝
Last term Brisbane’s own literary sensation and author Trent Dalton, inspired a new generation of writers at St Thomas' School, Camp Hill.
“Trent showed our students that every story has a purpose, and that at their very core, all stories lead back to love.” 💙

🏉 Congratulations to our students who proudly represented our school at the BCE South Brisbane Rugby 7s tournament! Fifty-three teams from fourteen schools played over 100 games, making it a huge day of rugby, teamwork and school spirit.
Our U10 Boys showed great determination and teamwork, winning 2 of their 4 matches to finish 5th overall. The Girls Rugby Touch Sevens team had an outstanding tournament, winning 3 of their 4 games to finish 3rd overall.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop their skills, show great teamwork and sportsmanship, and challenge themselves in a fun and competitive environment.
A big thank you to Mrs McAfee and Mr P, families and supporters who helped make the day such a positive experience. Well done, team! 👏

✨ Celebrating our Writer’s Festival ✨
What a wonderful celebration of storytelling at our St Thomas’ Writer’s Festival! Centred on the theme of Love, students explored how stories help us understand, connect with and show care for others. A special highlight was welcoming acclaimed Brisbane author and journalist Trent Dalton, whose inspiring presentation encouraged our students to see the power of their own voices and the importance of sharing stories with heart. His message of kindness, empathy and connection truly resonated with our young writers.
Thank you to our resident authors Mrs Gardiner and Ms Matta and to Mrs Campbell for their dedication and care in bringing this special event to life. ✍️📚
