It’s Science Week!

🌈🥛 A little milk, a dab of dishwashing liquid, some drops of colour, and A LOT of magic! ✨ Our little scientists loved watching as colours swirled, mixed and transformed before their eyes! 🧪💫

Our OSHC children are always busy building, constructing and bringing their ideas to life with LEGO! From towering structures to imaginative creations - every brick is a chance to explore, problem-solve and showcase their inner creativity. 🏗️

We love seeing where their imaginations take them! 💭

✨ Learning through play is the best way to learn ✨

Our toddlers had a great time last Friday using their senses to explore with playdough!

Playdough is a great tool for learning, to name a few learning possibilities:

✋ Hand strength: Squishing, rolling, and pinching build small muscles in fingers and hands
✍️ Writing readiness: Strong hand muscles preparing them for holding pencils later
✖️➗ Early mathematical concepts: Counting pieces, comparing sizes and shape concepts
🧑‍🎨 Creativity: Open-ended play lets the imagination run wild

Home corner is more than just cooking!

It's also:
💭 Building big imaginations through dramatic role play
🗣 Using conversational speech and developing daily vocabulary
🍽Learning skills to be independent and making real-world connections
👩‍🍳Exploring new identities and confidence in self-expression and
👪 Exploring family structures and empathy for others

Dental week is in full swing at Little Big People! 🦷🪥

Our children have been exploring dental hygiene through hands-on learning experiences. Here are our Kindy children showing us the best techniques for a good clean!

Every year on August 4th, we acknowledge National Aboriginal 💛❤️🖤 and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day! 💚💙🤍🖤

We think back to our service-wide contribution earlier this year, when our families, educators and children came together to support the Children’s Ground “Wear It Yellow” fundraiser, helping Little Big People raise an incredible $280! 💛

Children are the future, and every child deserves to grow up connected to culture, community and Country.
