Australian METAR Maps

2021 is done and what a big year it was.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone. I really appreciate all the support I received whether it was with orders or on this page throughout the year.
It definitely gave me something to do on Jobkeeper and then RDAC.

It's been another terrible year for pilots but 2022 is already looking very promising for all of us.

Good luck to everyone in 2022 and I hope the rebound of Australian aviation treats you all well.

For me this next year is going to be even bigger, I hope, with a lot of ideas for new maps, which I'll post here of course.

This is a map of where I've sent all my METAR Maps so far. Next year the aim is to fill in a few more gaps and maybe add some dots across the pond! Who knows what'll happen.

I've just finished designing an A3 size Mini Map for our friends across the ditch.

A Sounds Air pilot is already interested so I've made a company route map version for him.

39 METAR's are available to use in New Zealand including Chatham Islands Airport.

The A3 size is 420x297mm and is the same as the East Coast Australia size in the last pic.

What do think about the different styles?

I'm definitely leaning towards the muted colours. Has a nice feel to it.

Changing the direction of the sun really brings out the shadows too

Trying to get my shaded relief maps to look super realistic.
