Meet our Committee Members!

Cervantes (he/him) & Tvisha (she/her)

Why did you want to join the Committee?

Cervantes: Through online learning and patches of isolation the sense of community at QUT starting slipping away and thought this would be a great way to help rebuild and contribute to the student community.

Tvisha: Given the recent use of social media to spread a lot of misinformation and hate, I wanted to try and use the platform to do the opposite. It's important to try an counteract that negative messaging with something more positive and uplifting.

Why did you want to join the Committee?

Nanami: I wanted a place where I can help make some fun, wholesome events happen!

Izzy: I wanted to be a part of creating a safe space where people are free to express themselves and share the things they love!

Lydia (she/her) & Fiona (she/her)

Why did you want to join the Committee?

Lydia: I wanted to join the Committee because I wanted to help create a space that made others feel loved and supported while studying at uni. I have been privileged throughout my studies to experience the best of the uni community and I want to help as many people as possible receive their opportunities to belong.

Fiona: I wanted to bring back a sense of belonging at QUT. I feel the friendships formed outside of classes enrich the university experience. I hope to foster a space that brings different people together where fun memories can be made!

Hi all,

Cultural Bites is an event that brings our QUT and wider community together through a celebration of culture and cuisine. It is on TODAY from 4pm-7pm at the courts near Goodwill Bridge.

It's a very fun event with live performances and delicious food so feel free to come along - whether it be for the whole event or just popping by to grab a snack! Entry is FREE.
