Photos from Salisbury State School's post 24/08/2026

This year's Book Week, Symphony of Stories, had some of the most creative costumes our school has seen. Today’s event marks the 80th book week this school has had. This book week was quite different from ones we’ve had in prior years. We had a year level dance break, teachers giving out vouchers to the best dressed student of each class, the senior students seemed to dress up a lot more than previous years, and a lot more differences!

The overall winner for best dressed class was 65E, this class had some absolutely amazing outfits! The Prep classes were all given an honourable mention. The winner for best dressed teacher was Miss Ryan who was dressed as the princess from Princess and the Pea. The winner for best dressed teacher aide was Miss Jacki dressed as Leo the Littlest Seahorse.

There were so many excellent outfits across the school, and the students really brought their book characters to life.

Thank you to Mrs Chisler, and her band of merry helpers, for organising this year’s Book Week parade.

The 2026 Book of the Year awards were finalised last Friday. The Picture Book of the Year was awarded to Once I Was A Giant by Zeno Sworder. For a full list of books head to: https://cbca.org.au/2026-winners/
