As part of our Reward Day, 1A took on 1S for the Salisbury Grade 1 Netball Title! After a great game full of teamwork and effort, the final score was a 1-1 draw.

It was awesome to see so many students get involved, and we can't wait to see some of these future stars at Netball Club in the years to come!

Well done, 1A and 1S!

We’ve been getting creative in Visual Arts with Mr Armstrong as we prepare for next term! It’s hard to believe that, like a dandelion in the wind, we only have one term left of 2026!

Planetarium Report

On the 15th of September, the year 5’s and 6’s went on an excursion to the Mount Coot-tha Planetarium and Botanical Gardens. The planetarium was not only fun but informative about the many wonders of space.

We learnt about the seasons and how they work, the planets in the solar system, constellations and what they mean, and many more!

This was a great way for the students to learn about space and our solar system.

Overall, the planetarium was an excellent excursion and hopefully in later years, the younger grades will be able to experience it.

In 1A, we have been learning all about 3D shapes and their features, like faces, edges, and vertices. After exploring different objects and what makes them unique, we used a variety of materials to create our own 3D models.

We were so proud of our creations that we wanted to share them with you all! We made cubes, pyramids, prisms and more, with some of us even taking on the challenge of creating a pentagonal prism.

The PBL focus this week has been recognising RU OK? day. Students have discussed some steps to follow on how to ask the question and support friends. With young people, one of the key messages is that they also need to reach out to adults for help. Some issues are too big for our young people to handle alone.

Conversation steps:

2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check-in

This week in Maths, 1A has been learning about capacity! We headed outside with the water troughs to compare different containers and see which could hold more or less. We spent the lesson filling and pouring into our containers, making predictions, and testing our ideas.

For some students, there may have been a little pouring on themselves too! Luckily Mr Armstrong remembered the aprons this time... unlike our clay lesson. Sorry to all the washing machines at home!
