The future of training isn’t one-size-fits-all.
At , one message came through clearly:
👉 training must be more responsive, connected, and people-centred.
For Polly Britten CF, Industry Engagement Lead at PSO, a standout panel — “Innovations at the edges: what remote Australia teaches the system”- reinforced the critical need to move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach, particularly in regional and remote communities.
Some key insights:
▪️Co-design matters: Aderyn Chatterton (Acting CEO, NT Department of Education) emphasised the importance of working with First Nations communities, not for them, to deliver training that is relevant, respectful, and effective.
▪️Support drives success: Jennifer Trybula (Tec-NQ) shared how wraparound support- boarding, community breakfasts, industry alignment- builds a sense of belonging that helps learners stay engaged and complete.
✅ The takeaway? Effective regional training does both, and as Australia's net zero workforce grows, getting this right isn't optional. It's foundational.
