The Pocket Early Education and Care

The Pocket Early Education and Care Located in Brisbane’s inner west; in the leafy pocket of St Lucia QLD. We are also conveniently located near UQ, restaurants and local amenities.

We offer an early learning environment where children’s health, happiness, safety and wellbeing come first. Opened in June 2020, The Pocket Early Education and Care instil children with a sense of well-being and growth to help them develop a strong sense of community. We help children connect with and contribute to their world, become confident and involved learners, and develop effective communication skills. As an early learning centre, The Pocket believes that each child is unique. Because of this, we cater to their individual agency and optimal potential through our innovative implementation of ‘learning by playing’. This allows children to better understand the world in which they live through our planned early education programs which engage their capacity to participate, communicate, investigate, create, and reflect.

At The Pocket, our qualified in-house chef, Julian, is a truly valued part of our community, preparing fresh, nutritious meals each day while working closely with our families to understand individual preferences, dietary needs and nutrition.

And it's not just our little ones being looked after... 🥐

From freshly baked morning pastries for our families to enjoy with their coffee, to thoughtfully prepared meals throughout the day, it's the little touches that make The Pocket feel like home.

A special visit from healthy Harold 🦒

Our children at The Pocket enjoyed a wonderful incursion focused and body boundaries personal space and respecting the boundaries of others.

Through engaging and age appropriate learning experiences, the children explored how to recognise and communicate their own boundaries, respect others’ personal space, and make choices that support their health, wellbeing and safety. 🌱

It was a meaningful opportunity to build confidence, develop an understanding of personal wellbeing, and learn about healthy hygiene practices in a fun and engaging way. 💛

At The Pocket, we know that being away from your child during the day doesn't mean you have to miss the little moments that matter 💛

We use OWNA, a digital app, where families can stay connected and informed throughout the day; from signing in and out, to keeping up with your child's routines, wellbeing, learning and development 🌿

It's one of the ways we help families feel connected, reassured, and involved even while they're busy at work or away from the centre.
