More than a century ago, the House of Thuillier in Vignacourt, France, offered a sanctuary for thousands of First World War soldiers. Thanks to the kindness of Louis and Antoinette Thuillier, these men found a brief respite from the horrors of war, and their portraits were captured, preserving their stories for generations. Today, we face the urgent task of protecting this historic site. Phase One of our restoration has secured the building, but now we need your help for Phase Two. This next stage focuses on stabilizing the cellar, installing essential infrastructure, and preserving the structure for the future. This history belongs to all of us, and together, we can ensure the House of Thuillier remains a place of remembrance and connection. It’s ANZAC week! A great Vignarun to start it off!

ANZAC commemorations in Vignacourt,France are being planned in detail as we approach this special time. We start with a town walk this weekend, and the Vignarun ( a huge event) next weekend. There are craft classes to make Poppies and Nenette and Rintintin dolls and small picture books of the Thuillier collection. ANZAC biscuits will be made on a number of occasions before a full scale period reenactment will take place over the 24th,25th and 26th April. Stay tuned !
