Ever wake up feeling like s**t and not even know why?

Honestly, feeling like s**t is one thing, but not knowing why the F*K you are!?! Is a whole other level.. Yesterday, was one of those days. So today I chose (being choose-day🤣)
I chose to move my body. I chose to shift my state.

I chose not to let the day choose for me.

Big shoutout to *Spoke to a Bloke*.
As men, we live in a world that does not always expect much from us physically.
So we have to choose our physical activities powerfully. And one of the strongest things a man can do is help another man choose powerfully too.

If I do not choose to move, low energy gets chosen for me.

If I do not choose my state, my state chooses me. So today, choose yourself, then choose something worth paying forward.

Give me a thumbs up if you choose to choose powerfully today.

Why morning light is so important..?

Get ready to NERD OUT on this…

That first hit of sunlight isn’t just “nice”… it’s biological gold.

When morning light enters your eyes, it travels straight to your suprachiasmatic nucleus (your brain’s master clock). From there, it starts organising everything inside you like a quiet commander bringing order to chaos.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

Circadian rhythm lock-in
That light signal tells your body “this is the start of the day.”
Your internal clocks sync up… energy improves… sleep later that night gets deeper and more reliable.
Hormone timing + balance

Cortisol rises the right way in the morning (not stress, activation).

Melatonin gets scheduled properly for night.
Testosterone, serotonin, dopamine… all start playing on rhythm instead of random.

Nervous system + mood upgrade
Morning light boosts serotonin production, which directly impacts mood, resilience, and emotional stability.
It’s like turning down background noise in your system before the day even begins.
And here’s the part most people forget…
Your skin is part of this conversation too.
Light on your skin supports vitamin D production, immune function, and cellular energy.

So I’ll leave you with this:

When was the last time you let your skin eat the sun for breakfast?

No phone. No rush. Just you… breathing… letting light do what it’s designed to do.

Better sleep starts the moment you wake up.

Raising funds for veteran recovery this week has been unreal… but it’s the people you meet that really land. Mal Meninga was clearly in a hurry, you could feel it, but he still stopped, bought a book, had a chat, took a photo, and supported the cause. It reminded me that being “busy” isn’t a reason to walk past… it’s a choice. And some people choose to show up anyway.
Grateful for the kind of man he is, and for everyone who’s stepped in to support veterans this week. Different walks of life, same heart behind it.

Ran into a couple of legends at the airport today,

Daniel Vincent and Kim Keiffe from Trojans Trek, heading to Sydney for the Defence awards.

Nominated for Best Veterans Support Program and Best Health Support Program, and honestly, after experiencing Trojans Trek myself, I can say it’s one of the most powerful things out there for veterans and first responders. These guys don’t just talk about it, they live it.

They even grabbed a copy of my book and backed the cause, which meant a lot.

Wishing them all the best as they go down to hopefully clean up. If you’re a veteran or first responder and you’re looking for something real, go check them out.

This is what walking the dream looks like.

All this week I’ll be at Brisbane Domestic Airport raising funds for veteran recovery programs.
If you’re passing through, come over and say g’day. Happy to have a chat, sign a copy of my book Fight, Flight, Feel, and share what this work is really about.
Today I had the privilege of standing alongside Miriam Kent, CEO of Gallipoli Medical Research, based out of Greenslopes Private Hospital.
They’re doing important work in veteran health and recovery, and if you’re in Brisbane this Saturday, I highly recommend their dawn service.
5:30am. Greenslopes Hospital.
ANZAC Day comes once a year.
The ANZAC spirit is lived every day.

ANZAC Day is close… and it hits a little different this year.
Today I got a fresh delivery of my book Fight, Flight, Feel.
This week I’ll be at Brisbane Domestic Airport, standing there in person, having real conversations, sharing stories that come from the front line and what came after.
Every dollar raised is going straight back into veteran recovery programs.
No fluff. Just real support for real people.
If you’re passing through Brisbane Domestic, come say g’day.
I’ll have signed copies ready… plus a few extras for those who make the time to connect.
Sometimes the biggest shifts start with a simple conversation.
See you out there.

Sat down in person with Harvey Fox on the Grey Man podcast.
We went deep on what it actually means to restore balance… not the fluffy version, the real one. The kind you earn by walking through a bit of darkness and learning how to find your own light again.
These are the conversations that don’t always make it to the surface, but they’re the ones that shift things.
This one will land in about two and a half weeks.
Watch this space.

There’s something powerful that happens when you stop chasing more… and start stacking what already works.
Breathwork. Heat. Light.
Each one shifts your state on its own
But combine them… and you create a full system upgrade
Here are the top 3 benefits when you stack all three
Nervous system reset
Breathwork calms and directs
Sauna pushes you into controlled stress
Red light supports recovery at a cellular level
Together they train your body to handle pressure… then return to calm faster
Deeper recovery and cellular repair
Sauna increases circulation
Red light supports mitochondrial function
Breathwork improves oxygen delivery
You are not just “relaxing”
You are actively rebuilding from the inside out
Mental clarity and emotional release
Heat opens you up
Breath moves what is stuck
Light supports brain function and mood
This is where the noise drops away and something clearer comes through
If you are looking for a simple way to elevate your day
Stack them
Even 10 to 20 minutes done right can shift everything
This is your informational boost for the day

Pain doesn’t always scream. Sometimes it just gets quiet and lonely.
My trauma didn’t break me. The silence did.
Pain lingered long enough to become isolation.
And we were trained not to ask for help.
Because that meant weakness.
But what saved me wasn’t a therapist. It was breath.
Learning to breathe with my body turned my lungs into medicine.
It gave me back connection to myself and those I love.
If your silence is strangling you, you’re not broken.
Breathe. Start here.
