This week, our visit from Miss Jess from Hey Dee Ho Music focused on our Auslan sign language skill development.

This experience helps children begin to understand the relationships among oral, written, and visual representations.

We continue our focus on movement in our dances and enjoy some spontaneous music appreciation with our instruments.

Gardening with young children is a powerful way to teach sustainability, nurturing a lifelong appreciation for nature, and helping toddlers care for the earth.

It builds a lifelong bond with nature, encourages patience, and shows how plants grow from tiny seeds into healthy food.

Miss Anjie has been working hard with our Kindy and Junior Kindy children, alongside the Tiny Souls team, to build well-being and social and emotional strengths.

We love seeing the smiles on their faces as they learn more about Zip and his friends.

Last week, we continued exploring indigenous and Torres Strait Islander culture during NAIDOC Week.

This was an opportunity for all Australians to stand in solidarity, celebrate the histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and learn more about First Nations cultures.

The children and Educators did this through colours and exploration, painting, drawing, and our natural resources throughout the Centre.

But most of all, they learned through storytelling. sitting down having a yarn, and listening.

Thanks to one of our amazing families, we were thrilled to welcome the Queensland Ambulance Service to our Centre.

The children had the opportunity to ask questions, explore the inside of an ambulance, and address any fears or concerns they might have.

Teaching our little ones about these everyday heroes builds confidence and helps them act calmly in a crisis.

Kindy children love to build, create, and innovate with ease as magnets connect to bring imaginative ideas to life in countless configurations.

This engaging magnetic play supports spatial awareness, design exploration, and problem-solving skills in young learners.

Schematic play is a way a child explores an idea while playing.

This is often seen as repetitive behaviour that may not always make sense to an adult, but it's a way for children to really dig into the idea and understand it.

We love supporting this type of learning as a way to engage children's natural problem-solving wiring.

It also helps support emotion regulation through predictability and body-brain integration for gross and fine motor development.
