Insect Week is alive and well at Kenmore!
This annual event celebrates the weird and wonderful world of insects.
Itβs a golden opportunity for our Educators to engage children in STEM learning inspired by these creaturesβ unique characteristics, including how they breathe, smell, and communicate.
Our Tiny Tots have had lots of fun exploring in our gardens, looking for and finding creatures, but also getting a little more hands-on with safer options.

Construction play for Toddlers is an excellent way to naturally develop their fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and cognitive problem-solving.

Construction in the garden can take many forms. Our Toddler children have been busy exploring one of our construction resources in a new setting, adding a new element of light and colour to their learning.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Vegemite Day! Chef Trenyce is always supporting our little one with Healthy eating choices, today with making Vegemite scrolls.
Vegemite scrolls offer a Vitamin B boost, and bakers can customise the base recipe to further enhance its nutritional value. Thank you, Chef Trenyce. We love them! π

Storytelling is a cornerstone of child development that builds critical language, cognitive, and emotional skills. By engaging with narratives, children naturally expand their vocabulary, improve concentration, and develop empathy as they explore diverse character perspectives and feelings. Here at Kenmore Green Leaves, we love that we can explore and learn through stories in lots of ways.

Children "read" images before they read text. Pictures ignite imagination, build emotional intelligence, and bridge the gap between spoken and written language, making abstract concepts accessible. Here at Kenmore, our Junior Kindy children have been exploring symbols as they tell stories. using these to make meaningful marking while telling their own stories

National Simultaneous Storytime is an event that celebrates literacy, imagination, and connection through the joy of shared reading. At Kenmore, Green leaves this looked different in every environment. While all our children took part, it was lovely to know that reading is still so important and is a key part of what we do
Every year, a picture book created by an Australian author and illustrator is chosen for a free nationwide reading event unlike any other. Millions gather in schools, libraries, homes, preschools and bookshops to read the same story, at the same time, out loud, together.
In 2026, that picture book is Luna Roo. A full-throttle, tail-thumping, goal-scoring, underdog story that brings the excitement off the pitch β and the page β and into an unmissable storytime event

π€β€οΈππππ€ At Green Leaves Early Learning, weβre proudly All In for National Reconciliation Week 2026 π€β€οΈππππ€
From 27 May to 3 June, we come together to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.
Reconciliation starts with all of us, including our youngest learners. Through moments of curiosity, storytelling, music, art and connection, children begin to build understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.
Because every small conversation, shared experience and learning moment helps us to build towards a more inclusive future, together.
