How Un-Stunned Halal Works
• The Cut: A trained person uses a very sharp knife to cut the throat, windpipe, and major blood vessels in a single continuous motion. (ISIS did this in their terror videos)
• The Prayer: A religious blessing (Tasmiya or Shahada) is spoken during the process.
• Consciousness: The animal is fully awake when the cut happens and loses consciousness only after blood drains from the brain, which can take anywhere from a few seconds to over a minute depending on the animal.

🇳🇱 Dutch Agriculture and Animal Welfare State Secretary Silvio Erkens of the VVD says he personally supports banning the Halal slaughter of animals without prior stunning and will seriously consider legislation being advanced by the Party for the Animals.
Erkens said the Netherlands places a high priority on animal welfare and called it “wry” that religious exemptions still permit unstunned ritual slaughter. He said the practice “doesn’t belong in the Netherlands,” while stressing that his position concerns animal welfare rather than targeting Muslims or religion itself.
