Squishy, slippery, gloopy and full of sea creatures to discover! 🐋🦈

Our children explored an ocean-inspired Gelli Baff sensory experience, using their hands to scoop, squeeze, search and investigate the unusual texture while discovering the creatures hiding within.

Sensory play provides wonderful opportunities for children to explore through touch, build descriptive language, develop fine motor skills and share their discoveries with friends. 💙

And, most importantly… sometimes it’s just really fun to get your hands into something wonderfully messy! 😂

A little school holiday fun to try at home!

Looking for an easy activity to keep little hands busy these school holidays? Why not make your own playdough! 💛

With just a few simple ingredients, children can get involved in making their own before the real fun begins — squishing, rolling, squeezing, cutting and creating! ✨

Playdough isn’t just lots of fun, either. As children play, they’re strengthening little hands, developing fine motor skills, exploring creativity and using plenty of imagination.

Let your child choose the colours, grab some cookie cutters or loose parts and see where their imagination takes them. 🌸

👨‍🍳💛 Celebrating 6 Years of Chef Dom!

Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone — Chef Dom’s 6-year anniversary with Affinity! 🎉

We are incredibly lucky to have Dom as part of our Kids Academy Taigum family, where he has well and truly become the heart of our centre.

From preparing delicious meals and snacks each day, to accommodating individual needs and somehow always finding something extra for a hungry child (or team member! 😂), Dom keeps us all very well fed and cared for.

But Dom brings so much more to our centre than what comes out of his kitchen. He knows our children and families, supports our team, joins in with centre life and is always willing to lend a hand. His kindness, humour and genuine care are felt throughout the centre every day.

Six years of nourishing, caring for and making a difference to children, families and teams. 💛

Congratulations on 6 years, Dom! We’re so lucky that your Affinity journey brought you to Taigum, and we couldn’t imagine our centre without you. 🥰👨‍🍳

Every Monday, our wonderful ECT Miss Gabby brings the magic of music to life through fun, engaging and developmentally rich musical classes for our children.

With AMEB Grade 8 Piano and Grade 4 Saxophone qualifications - plus experience teaching both private piano lessons and early childhood music classes - Miss Gabby creates meaningful learning experiences that support:

• Brain development
• Communication skills
• Confidence building
• Rhythm and movement
• Creative expression
• Social connections
• Fine motor development
• Everyday learning

Throughout or Music Monday program, children explore instruments, movement, creativity, confidence and connection - all guided by Miss Gabby’s expertise and passion.

Did you know we have our very own chef onsite at Kids Academy Taigum? 👨‍🍳

Chef Dom prepares fresh and tasty meals for our children each day, and we thought it was time to start sharing some of his recipes with our families too!

First up - Dom’s Overnight Oats. 🥣✨

Some of our families may already recognise these from our Family Grab & Go Breakfast, available every Wednesday and Friday morning. And while we’ve only just started enjoying our new Spring Menu, here’s a little sneak peek ahead - overnight oats will also be joining our Summer Menu as a morning tea option for the children. ☀️

We know how much families love seeing what’s on the menu, so we’ll be sharing more of Dom’s recipes, menu favourites and what’s cooking in our kitchen right here.
