🎉 ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS & MORNING TEA, SEMESTER ONE, 2026 🎉 - This morning, our P&C had the pleasure of supporting the school’s Student Academic Excellence Awards, recognising students for their hard work, dedication and commitment to their studies. 🌟

We are incredibly proud of all students recognised today and congratulate them on their wonderful achievements! 🏆

We hope students and families enjoyed the morning tea, kindly provided by the P&C, with thanks to our generous volunteers who gave their time to help prepare and set everything up. 💛

🎬We are only hours away from our WWSS P&C Movie Night! 🍿 Head down for some early dinner from the Café and settle in for a fun and relaxing evening with our school community. Rug up, bring your chairs, rugs or bean bags, and enjoy popcorn, hot chocolate and a family movie under the stars (well… undercover 😉).

❤️ VISITOR 🎉 Our local Councillor Alex Givney stopped by or monthly meeting on Wednesday night. We are so grateful for her ongoing support in our community 🙏

A huge thank you to Lenora, Pip, Mr Turner and the Wynnum West SS - P&C Association for welcoming me to their meeting on a very rainy Wednesday evening.

It was great to hear about the success of the recent Bunnings BBQ, upcoming school activities and, of course, the important tuckshop debate… to toast, or not to toast! 🤔🍞

I was also pleased to provide updates on a number of local projects and initiatives:

🚴 Wynnum West Off-Road Cycling Track
💪 Potential Ninja Warrior-style course at Sorrento Street Park
🎉 The 2026 Bayside Spring Festival – set to be bigger than ever!
🎬 Films on the Field- we appreciate their support
🚦 Lindum Crossing project update
🏛️ School presentations and opportunities to visit City Hall

We also discussed a proposed development on Wynnum Road and requests regarding fencing at the playground across the road from the school.

P&C volunteers work tirelessly behind the scenes to support their school communities, and I am always grateful for the opportunity to attend their meetings, listen to their ideas and hear what matters most to local families.

Thank you for everything you do for the Wynnum West State School community.
