A big thank you to Bunnings Mt Gravatt for their generous donation of umbrellas to our school! ☂️☀️

Our staff and students are already putting them to great use at our PBL Fun Day, helping everyone stay SunSmart while enjoying the activities.

These umbrellas will be a wonderful addition to our future school events, providing extra shade and helping keep our school community safe in the sun.

We really appreciate Bunnings Warehouse Mt Gravatt support of our school and our students.

🌿 Meet Dave 🐾

We’re excited to introduce Dave, our rescued possum.

After being rehabilitated by a dedicated wildlife carer, Dave was transitioned into a release trailer within our bushland and has now been successfully rehomed as part of his journey back to the wild.

Dave’s story is a wonderful reminder of the care, commitment and compassion involved in giving native wildlife a second chance.

Stay safe, Dave — We'll all be cheering you on!!!

🏃‍♂️ Athletics Success at Mackenzie! 🏆

Over the past month, 14 of our students have proudly represented Mackenzie State Special School at District, Metropolitan East Regional and UQ Athletics Carnivals.

Our athletes showed incredible determination, courage, resilience and sportsmanship, with everyone giving 100% and achieving fantastic results and many Personal Bests (PBs)!

We are also thrilled that several students have qualified to represent Metropolitan East at the QRSS Track and Field State Championships in October—a fantastic achievement!🎉

A huge congratulations to all 14 athletes. We are incredibly proud of your efforts, achievements and the way you represented Mackenzie! 👏🏆
