🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ What a fantastic way to finish Term 3! 💙💛❤️

Our Kuraby Cross Country was a wonderful celebration of participation, perseverance and sportsmanship! In perfect weather, students took to the course, cheered on by their schoolmates, with staff and our older students supporting and encouraging our younger runners every step of the way.

It was lovely to see so many parents and carers joining in the fun and celebrating their children’s achievements. At the end of the day, we were all winners! 🏆

🥇 1st – Kumbooran (Blue) 🥈 2nd – Koridilla (Yellow) 🥉 3rd – Karrawarra (Red)

A huge thank you to all the staff who helped make the day such a success, and a very special shout-out to our devoted PE teacher, Mrs Lloyd, who goes above and beyond to bring sporting fun and opportunities to our school every day. We are so grateful for all that you do!

Congratulations, Kuraby! What a brilliant way to finish the term! 🎉👏💙

🇦🇺 Honouring Service and Community

Today, on the very first day of the school holidays, some of our School Captains and their families gave their time to represent Kuraby State School at the Australians of Indian Heritage War Memorial Re-Dedication Service at Sunnybank RSL.

It was a privilege to see our students stand alongside members of our community to acknowledge and honour the service and sacrifice of Australians of Indian heritage.

Giving up part of their school holidays to attend a significant community event is a wonderful example of leadership, respect and service to others. I am incredibly proud of our School Captains for the maturity and commitment they demonstrated today, and grateful to their families for supporting them to be there.

Leadership is not just about what we do at school — it is about how we show up for our community. 💙💛

Today we ask “Are you ok?” Day. This thoughtful phrase gives us all time to pause and check in on those around us. Sometimes, you might be the reason someone feels better, simply because you took time to check in. Our amazing guidance officer, Mrs Layton, baked delicious RUOK cupcakes - complete with little bees. She also drove her cherished “yellow beetle” to school to promote awareness. Our cleaner Mrs Redman created delicious cookies 🍪 I can tell you - I was absolutely feeling ok after I chomped into that little yellow cupcake! Nom Nom. Mental health is everyone’s business. So - RUOK?
