Our next Date Night is happening Friday, 18 September, giving parents the chance to enjoy a night out while the children stay back at their campus for dinner, activities and a movie.

Date Night is just one of the ways our Family Time Program helps give families a little more time back.

"I will just hold their hand and we will play." 🤍💛

Our Redland Bay South Children's Council sat down for R U OK? Day, and our educators asked the children:

What could you say to check on your friends?
💬 "Are you ok? If you're not ok, that's alright, I can tell a teacher."
💬 "I will just hold their hand and we will play."

What is ONE kind thing you could do today?

💬 "I will draw a shark for them."
💬 "I can play with someone who's sad."
💬 "I carried a shopping bag for my mum."

What makes you feel better if you're not OK?
💬 "Having a drink of water, a cuddle from my mummy!"
💬 "Someone checking on me."

Their messages are now proudly displayed in their classrooms for everyone to see. Noticing when a friend isn't okay, asking, and knowing who can help, these are skills that make an impact early and stay for life.

From Assistant Educator to Regional Manager and Quality Practice Partner 🌱

Alice’s journey is a wonderful example of what can happen when talent is recognised, supported and given room to grow.

Alice joined Little Scholars at our first Yatala campus in 2015. Today, she helps lead quality practice across 17 campuses, supporting our campus leaders and inspiring the next generation of early childhood professionals.

Her career wasn’t shaped by one dramatic promotion. It grew through mentoring, professional development, new challenges and people who believed in her potential, sometimes before she saw it herself.

We couldn’t be prouder of Alice, or more grateful that she has chosen to grow alongside Little Scholars for the past 11 years.

Of course, even our most accomplished leaders still make time for a little fun! Here she is sharing a laugh with our founder, Jae. 💚 Read Alice’s full story:

Little Scholars Pacific Pines have been learning with loose parts recently, using things like everyday materials to make, investigate, and experiment. 👀

Bottle tops, cardboard, leaves, bark, and stones are some of the loose parts used in play, giving children the choice of what the loose parts can become, and how they choose to use them.

Throughout, they are developing creativity, problem-solving, concentration and fine motor skills, as they enjoy open-ended play.

Sometimes the simplest materials offer the most potential for learning!

At Little Scholars, connection is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in building a community where educators, families, and children all feel seen, supported, and cared for - every single day, not just on R U OK Day.
