Rainbow Park Excursions 🌈

What an exciting morning our Pre-Kindy children had yesterday on their Rainbow Park excursion! The children were bursting with excitement from the moment we left the service, eagerly chatting about where we were going and what they might discover.

We were incredibly proud of how well everyone walked to and from the park. The children stayed together as a group, listened carefully to instructions, and demonstrated fantastic road safety skills. Along the way, we stopped to look at different road signs, discussing what they meant and why they help keep everyone safe. The children enjoyed identifying crossings, traffic signs, and footpaths while practising safe walking habits such as stopping, looking, listening, and holding hands where needed.

There were plenty of smiles and waves as passing cars and trucks beeped and waved back, making the walk even more exciting and helping the children feel connected to their local community.

A huge thank you to our wonderful families who volunteered their time to help supervise and support the excursion — we couldn’t do these special experiences without you! 💛

🌿🍊 Mud Kitchen Magic at Fig Tree Pocket 🍊🌿

Today our Pre-Kindy children enjoyed a wonderful morning of nature-based play in the mud kitchen. The children were excited to discover the oranges growing on our orange tree and eagerly incorporated them into their imaginative play.
Working together, they created delicious pretend meals, cakes, and special recipes, using mud, natural materials, and freshly picked oranges to bring their ideas to life. It was wonderful to see their creativity flourish as they mixed, stirred, decorated, and shared their creations with friends.
Through this hands-on experience, the children developed important skills including cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and creativity. They explored different textures, practised sharing resources, and engaged in meaningful conversations as they collaborated and played.

At Fig Tree Pocket, we value the rich learning opportunities that nature provides, encouraging children to connect with the environment through play, exploration, and discovery every day.
