(a) the African Students Association at Griffith University, otherwise known as Griffith University African Students Association (GU ASA)
(b) diverse and cohesive representing nations such as Ghana, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Somalia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Morocco, South Africa, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Congo, Sudan, Liberia, Zambia, Guinea, Burundi, Eritrea, Uganda as well as Australia, Pacific Islands, Vietnam and India. (a) promote the understanding of the unique African culture and ethnic heritage. (b) operate as an entity which will represent African students in putting forward their opinions and grievances to the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Griffith University. (c) showcase the various aspects of the dynamic African culture such as way of life, music, food, language, clothing and beauty through social media. (d) provide opportunities by serving as a learning environment for those interested in African culture and issues in order to advance multicultural education, equity and social justice. (e) foster unity and friendship amongst African students at Griffith University and other African students organisations, and the Australian community at large. (g) increase awareness about Africa and African issues among Griffith University students

(a) organize events that promote African culture and foster unity among our members. Events include but not limited to; African day celebration, movie nights, end of semester party, trivia nights, Awards night, etc
(b) involve ourselves in extra curricula Griffith University activities such as; the Mixed Soccer tournament with Griffith Sports and the Annual Cultural Gala with Clubs at Griffith. (c) assist members new to Griffith University adjust to the university's work atmosphere and lifestyle. (d) offer peer support (Book exchange, welfare services, scholarship advise and accommodation through on-campus services such as Griffith University welfare services and Accommodation at Griffith)
