Directing traffic, protecting crews, and keeping everything flowing safely, there’s more to this job than meets the eye, all whilst making some decent coin too! 💵

Both Gage and Hayden were looking for new careers when they came across CSQ’s Trade Ready Program with Shadforth Civil.👷‍♂️🏗️

With an interest in Civil Construction, they were able to undertake a 6-week pre-trade course, gaining hands-on experience on real-life civil construction sites.

They are now about to finish their Cert III in Civil Construction and are on track to become qualified leading hands.

Not everyone wants to go to uni and that’s OK 🙌👷‍♂️

After a visit from the Construction Pathways team to his school, Patrick was inspired to start a trade.

Now, he’s finishing off Year-12, while being an apprentice chippy!

The CSQ Construction Pathways BuildCAIRNS hub, delivered as part of the Business Liaison Association Careers Expo, brought together a powerhouse of employers, trainers and industry leaders, all working to showcase the depth and diversity of careers across construction. 🏗️🔨

From plastering and bricklaying to civil, water and beyond, companies stepped up to give students a genuine, hands-on look at what the industry has to offer.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, the engagement and excitement from students said it all!
