DID YOU KNOW?

School readiness is about SO much more than knowing letters, numbers and how to write your name.

Some of the most important skills children take with them to school are the ones that help them feel confident, capable and ready to navigate their new world.

At Kindy, we support children to develop:

✔️Confidence — having a go, taking safe risks and believing in themselves.

✔️Communication — expressing their ideas, asking for help, listening to others and joining conversations.

✔️Independence — looking after belongings, opening lunchboxes, dressing themselves, making choices and completing everyday tasks.

✔️Emotional regulation — recognising big feelings, developing strategies to manage them and knowing when to seek support.

✔️Social skills — making friends, negotiating, taking turns, solving problems and working as part of a group.

✔️Curiosity & learning dispositions — wondering, questioning, investigating, persisting and discovering that learning is exciting.

Because being ready for school isn’t about knowing everything before you arrive. It’s about having the confidence, skills and curiosity to learn.

You may have noticed something about our socials…

If you’ve been following Charley’s for a while, you may have noticed that we don’t share identifiable images of the children in our care or show their faces on our public social media pages.

This was a conscious decision we made some time ago as part of our ongoing commitment to child safety, privacy and safeguarding.

We absolutely love sharing what happens within our Charley’s community — the learning, creativity, adventures, celebrations and all those wonderful little moments that make childhood special. But we believe we can tell those stories without publicly sharing a child’s identity.

Children today are growing up in an increasingly digital world, and protecting them also means thinking carefully about the digital footprint we create on their behalf.

So while you’ll continue to see plenty of life at Charley’s — little hands creating, backs of heads exploring, environments, experiences, educators, artwork and of course Charley & Patch — you won’t see our children’s faces on our public pages.

It’s something we’re really proud to stand behind.

Because safeguarding children doesn’t stop when we go online.

Their childhood. Their privacy. Their story.

🌿✨ Supporting Bald Hills State School’s Outdoor Classroom – The Forestry ✨🌿

The children from Charleys Place Kindy have been busy creating something truly special for the BHSS 160th Festival Silent Auction!

Working alongside their amazing teachers, the children have created a beautiful piece of artwork inspired by Mother Earth 🌎💚. This meaningful artwork represents their creativity, connection to nature, and the importance of caring for our world.

The auction piece has been created to help raise funds for the Bald Hills State School Outdoor Classroom, known as "The Forestry” — a special space that will provide opportunities for children to connect with nature, through nature play, bush tucker experiences, and hands-on learning, in an inspiring outdoor environment. 🌱🌳
