🎭✨ What a fantastic day we’ve had! ✨🎭

Today we were so excited to welcome Larrikin Puppets to our centre! 🥳🐸🎶

Our children had an absolutely wonderful time enjoying a fun filled puppet show packed with colourful characters, music, laughter and plenty of opportunities to join in! ❤️

The experience was also a wonderful opportunity to support the children’s early literacy skills. Through storytelling, songs, characters and conversation, the children were encouraged to listen, communicate, build their vocabulary, follow along with a story and use their imaginations.
📚🗣️✨ Experiences like these help children develop a love of stories and language in a fun and engaging way.

There were lots of smiles, giggles and excited little faces as the children watched the puppets come to life. It was such a special experience for our little ones and a wonderful way to encourage imagination, creativity and a love of storytelling. 🌈✨

🐝🌿 Buzzing with Learning at Journey Early Learning! 🌿🐝

We were so excited to welcome the wonderful team from Teralba Bees, our Pollination Partners, to Journey Early Learning Brisbane Airport for a very special hands on educational experience all about our Australian native bees! 🐝🇦🇺

Our curious children had the opportunity to get up close and learn about these incredible little pollinators, discovering where bees live, how they work together and the important role they play in our environment. 🌱🌸

The children were fascinated as they explored a real hive and got to see honeycomb up close. There were lots of inquisitive questions, careful observations and plenty of excitement as our educators and children learned alongside one another!

What made this experience particularly special was the way Teralba Bees brings real world beekeeping, environmental science and sustainability education together through hands on experiences. Their programs encourage children to develop curiosity about the natural world and understand how we can all play a part in caring for our environment.
This experience connected beautifully with our commitment at Journey Early Learning Brisbane Airport to nurturing children's curiosity, encouraging exploration and helping our little learners build meaningful connections with the world around them. 🌏💚

“Symphony of Stories”

Dear Families,
We are excited to celebrate Children’s Book Week 2026 with our children! This year’s beautiful theme is “Symphony of Stories”, inviting us to explore the wonderful world of books, characters, imagination and storytelling. 📖✨
Here at Journey Early Learning Brisbane Airport, we believe that literacy begins long before children learn to read and write. Through shared reading, storytelling, songs, rhymes, conversations and meaningful play, children are developing the foundations for lifelong literacy in fun and engaging ways.
Throughout Book Week, our educators will support children to:

🎵 Explore stories, characters and different ways of communicating
📚 Develop a love and appreciation for books and storytelling
💭 Use their imagination and creativity through play and story-inspired experiences
🗣️ Build vocabulary, language and communication skills
🎨 Express their ideas through art, music, movement, drama and creative experiences
🤝 Develop confidence, social skills and a sense of belonging through shared experiences
Our Educational programs will incorporate play-based and intentional learning experiences, allowing children to revisit familiar stories, create their own narratives, explore characters and make connections between books and their own experiences.

👗BOOK WEEK DRESS-UP FUN👗
To make the week even more special, children are welcome to dress up as a favourite book character on ONE day or EVERY day during Book Week! 📚🦸‍♀️🧚‍♂️🦖
There is absolutely no pressure to purchase anything new, homemade costumes, simple outfits, or dressing in the colours inspired by a favourite story are all wonderful ways to participate. ❤️
We encourage families to talk with your child about their favourite books, read together at home and share the joy of stories. When families and educators work together to create positive experiences around books, we help nurture confident, curious and enthusiastic young readers. 🌱📖

We were lucky enough to receive a surprise visit today from Jackie at Connecting the Dots through Culture and what a wonderful visit it was!

We spent time talking about how we intentionally embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives into our everyday practice at our centre. These conversations are so valuable in helping us continue to create meaningful learning experiences that foster respect, understanding and appreciation for Australia's First Nations peoples.
Jackie brought along an incredible range of authentic resources designed to support children in learning about heritage, culture and connection to Country. We were fortunate to purchase some of these beautiful resources, and we can't wait to introduce them into our classrooms and curriculum.
Connecting the Dots is a First Nations-owned organisation dedicated to providing culturally authentic educational resources, professional learning and support that empower educators to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in genuine and respectful ways. Their work helps create opportunities for children to develop a deeper understanding of culture, identity and belonging from an early age.
Partnering with organisations like Connecting the Dots is incredibly important to us. It reflects our ongoing commitment to honouring and celebrating First Nations cultures, building our own cultural knowledge, and ensuring we provide an inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and voices are respected, valued and woven into everyday learning.

We are thrilled to announce that our children will be enjoying a very special incursion with the award-winning Larrikin Puppets! 🎭✨
Puppetry is a wonderful way to spark children's imagination while supporting their learning and development. Through engaging storytelling, music, humour and interactive play, children build important early literacy and language skills, develop confidence, strengthen their social and emotional understanding, and enhance their creativity.
These shared experiences also encourage listening, participation and a genuine love of learning in a fun, memorable way.
If your child doesn't usually attend on the day of this exciting incursion and you would like them to be part of this incredible experience, we'd love to see if we can accommodate them! Simply send me an email, and I'll check whether we have availability for an extra day.

Kindergarten Enrolment 2027 🎨 🖌️

It’s that exciting time of year when we begin planning for 2027 and preparing for another wonderful year of learning, growth, and discovery in our Kindergarten program for 2027. If your child is eligible for Kindergarten Funding next year and turns 4 years old on or before 30 June 2027, we kindly ask that you scan the attached QR code and complete an Expression of Interest for our Kindergarten classroom.
At this stage, this is simply an expression of interest and does not lock you into your enrolment. We understand that family circumstances can change, whether that means adjusting your attendance days or choosing a different service. If your plans do change, we can easily update your enrolment details. Gathering this information now helps us thoughtfully plan our classrooms, educators, and learning environments, while also giving us a clearer understanding of the places that may become available once our current families have confirmed their enrolments. If your child may be completing a second year of Kindergarten because you feel they would benefit from an additional year before starting Prep in 2028, we also encourage you to complete the Expression of Interest. Kindergarten is such a special year in a child's learning journey. It is a time when children build confidence, develop meaningful friendships, strengthen their independence, and grow through rich, play-based experiences that nurture their curiosity, creativity, and love of learning. Every day is filled with opportunities to explore, investigate, imagine, create, and discover as they develop the skills that will support a successful transition to school. To help you learn more about what makes our program so special, we will soon be hosting a special extravaganza Kindergarten Evening. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet our teaching team, explore our learning environments, and gain an insight into the engaging provocations and experiences that inspire children's thinking every day. You'll even have the chance to roll up your sleeves and join in! We want you to experience firsthand the power of play and discover why it is at the heart of everything we do. Through play, children develop resilience, communication, problem-solving skills, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning all while having fun.
