What a week for the two TTC teams and a couple of players in particular!
In the u15’s Micky Ramaswamy broke the TTC record for highest score and hit 158 off 169 balls in what was an amazing knock helping the team go from 2/2 to 8/259 on what was not a quick outfield versing a very solid attack. Micky is such a special player to work with and I am so happy to see him get the success he deserves with the hard work and passion he brings to every game and training. Critical partnerships with Eeshan, George and Aarav helped Micky and the team along the way.
In the u13’s it was a day of runs. Flipping the order some of the batters who batted lower in the first two games did exceptionally well. Shriaansh Sinha was the star of the day doubling his previous high score and hitting 71* not out in a brilliant counter-attacking innings. Good scores from Eddie and Waris along with a second 50 of the season from Aaron Jaishi allowed the team to get to a good total of 9/371 at the end of days play.
Both teams will need to bowl and field well this weekend.
A big shoutout goes to Brisbane Surgical Supplies for making it all possible :)

Week 5 was a successful week and a learning curve for the TTC Tigers teams. In the u13's, the team managed to defeat Wilston Norths by 134 runs. Stars of the match were Samar with 4 wickets, Eddie with a quickfire 75* and player of the match was Akshinder Khamb with a steadying 75* absorbing pressure from the opening bowlers before cashing in to help the team get a big first innings score. The u15's went down to a good Albany Creek team who won by one wicket. Plenty was learnt including the importance of putting away bad balls and putting pressure back on bowlers as well as being clinical in the field. Riley Johnston fought really well with the bat scoring 46* but it was Eeshan Mishra who was player of the match taking 6-16 off 8 overs with the ball. A big shoutout as always goes to Brisbane Surgical Supplies for making it all possible.

Week 4 was another great week for the TTC Tigers with both teams performing well. In the u13’s the team managed to put on 354 in their 70 overs on day 1 thanks to a huge knock by Akshinder Khamb with 75* off 116 balls and Eddie Prince 75 off 69* alonside many other contributors. The u15 team also played well completing a huge win over Kuraby. After a tricky start Riley Johnston, Rithvik Ramesh and Krishil Deoji built partnerships before Aakrith Ramaswamy was the standout with the bat, with 46 helping the team put on 175 runs. With the ball Riley and Eeshan started well before the star of the show, worlds best fill in Nick Headrick, spun a web taking 7-20 and absolutely cleaning the opposition up for a total of only 34 runs. U15 player of the match goes to Nick Headrick for his brilliant 7 Wickets. A big shoutout as always goes to Brisbane Surgical Supplies for making it all possible.

Despite the u15’s unfortunately getting called off due to rain, round 3 was another successful week for the TTC Tigers. Versing a strong Lakes team, the u13 team only managed to set 147 in the first innings. Having taken 6 wickets on day 1, the team needed 4 more wickets, whilst the Lakes needed 46 runs. Arriving around 7am on Saturday, the pitch was soaked and with some squeegee work and help from AK’s blower the team finally got on at 12:45pm. The Lakes played well early and managed to get another 17 runs. Shanvi took the first wicket before Waris came on and clutched up, taking 3 wickets in 4 balls. Player of the round for round 3 had to be shared this week between Aaron Jaishi (64 off 58) and Waris Bhagi 4-10. Without both players contributions the team simply could not have got the job done. A big thanks again to Brisbane surgical supplies for supporting the team :)

Yesterday I was shocked and extremely proud to be presented life membership #27 at Brisbane North Cricket Association. Being involved with BNJCA has brought me so much joy over the years and I can honestly say I have looked forward to every single session or game I’ve coached. I didn’t want to take up too much time yesterday but looking through the life members list there are some serious names and this is a huge honour. The list includes so many mentors for me and people like Reevsie, Steve and Kathy Casey are such inspirations. BNJCA is just much more than a cricket association to me, it’s a community where I have met so many wonderful people who I care about a lot.
A big thank you must firstly go to Aaron Mills for giving me the opportunity to start at Brisbane north all those years ago. I’d like to thank every volunteer that’s helped me run a session, game or trial, every parent that’s put their trust in me coaching their child (I don’t take this responsibility lightly) and every player I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I would also like to give a huge thank you to the committee that voted for me. The biggest thank you must go to my family, particularly my parents, who have supported me all the way. They allowed me to follow my passions and taught me the values of hard work.
Whilst I can’t always get it right I’m trying to improve all the time and am looking forward to plenty more years at Brisbane north!

The TTC winter season got off to a start last weekend with the u15’s narrowly losing to a strong Lakes team. TTC player of the match was Eeshan Mishra with 2-17 off 8 overs with the ball and 34 with the bat. The team will be looking to bounce back this weekend against Wilston North after a strong week training. A big thank you to the sponsor Brisbane Surgical supplies for making it all possible.
